Who would you partner with Orpik?

Orpik looks lost without Martin. He seemed to have played his worst game of the season tonight.

He's horrible with letang, and he needs another guy who has at least decent speed and is also at least somewhat responsible defensively. I narrowed it down to Niskanen and Despres, but as great as Despres looks at times he's still making a few too many rookie mistakes which often end up turning into some scary situations

Orpik and Engelland were particularly awful tonight, not that anyone was actually good...

On second thought he can't play on his off side.

Despres for his skating ability. Second option would be Niskanen, but he makes as many mistakes as Despres, so even tough Despres got his rookie mistakes I go with him

A few games?

Since 2010, what about Orpik's game has suggested to you that he will suddenly stop being on an interminable decline?

Well let's see how he does when Martin is back and he has playoff experience which might help.

Orpik has been getting worse every year for a while now. Guys with his type of game don't have a long shelf life. I think he looked so good with Martin because Martin has been playing lights out.

I don't think Orpik has changed all that much over the last few years. When the team is playing cohesively, he looks great. When they aren't, he is exposed. That can be said about every single other person on the team...less probably Crosby.

I think Murray is the ideal partner for Orpik while Martin is out. A guy to basically babysit him in all situations.

Playing Orpik on his off side was a gigantic, avoidable mistake.

In reality, though, if you take Martin and Letang out of the lineup, the 6 guys remaining are all role players or too young to take a meaningful role.
