You wanna re-sign the round block to go in the round hole, or the square block to go in the round hole ?

It is fairly safe to assume, Iginla is going to want way more money then Duper. Plus what else does Duper have to do ? Look at the numbers, the fit, the locker room, the clutch plays/goals, the playing style, and I find it very hard to argue whom is the better player to re-sign for this team. I'll take production over a name and nostalgia any day.

For now.......fun to have them both on the same team, I think Iginla has his best series during this run against the Bruins, IMO.

DK with a nice write-up on #9. He's a charter member of PDAS.

Did you know that, since the 2011 Winter Classic in which Crosby was concussed, Dupuis has scored 32 goals without Crosby or Evgeni Malkin on the ice?
Did you know 30 of those goals came at even-strength or short-handed since he's rarely on the power play? Did you see that laser over the shoulder of the Senators' Craig Anderson in Game 1 of the last round?
Neither did Anderson.

Best quote from him in the PG article today about his scoring development from a pure speed wing that just looked to get to spot for a big slapper:

"Now, it's more rebounds in the crease. It's charging hard to the net and having someone find my stick. It's winning battles in really tight quarters. I know those goals are there. I want them."

I used to always say "Top six talent. Bottom 6 execution" for Dupuis. That hasn't been true for a couple years now.

First, feel what way?

Second, he'll get a deserved raise, but he ain't getting $5M anywhere.

He's getting $4+million unless he takes a home team discount from Mario/GMRS. His current peer group consists of guys making anywhere from 4 to over 7. If he accepts less he's either saved his money well or he is getting bad advice.

Read in a few places that Dupuis is crushed. Please work it out, Duper, and stay.

Josh Yohe ‏@JoshYohe_Trib 12h
Pascal Dupuis was probably the most upset man in the locker room. Mario Lemieux walked into the room and shook Dupuis' hand. Classy gesture.

Rob Rossi ‏@RobRossi_Trib 12h
#TribHKY >> Ryan Malone. Jordan Staal. Pascal Dupuis. ALL had the same look in room after a #pens playoff series loss.

All water under the bridge and crying over spilt milk now but...I still don't understand how Duper (one of your leading goal scorers in the playoffs) gets virtually no power play time in this series. The pp sucked and it probably wouldn't mattered anyhow but that just seems ultra-dumb to me.

Hopefully the Penguins learn their lesson..........

Re-Sign Dupuis

Hard to believe that trade worked out so well even though Hossa left at the seasons end. Esp. when you look at what we gave up.
