Brian Boyle needs to look in a mirror (quote about Pens)

Postby llipgh2 on Sat Apr 06, 2013 1:06 pm

Some of the things they did, there's no place in hockey for.

Brian Boyle to the NY Post, about the Pens.

And what would those things be, Brian?

Running someone from behind? No, that was you.

Slashing someone from the bench and hide behind team mates? No, that was Nash.

Recklessly throw your elbow into an opposing player's head? No, that was Del Zotto.

STFU Boyle, and look in a mirror before accusing others.

Welcome to murraysville Boyle. Obviously still embarrassed. Best part about that hit was Kunitz laughing in his face as he was looking for tissues.

The Pens need to make sure of that.

Torts is showing that maybe hasn't lost his team after all. He's keeping them on message--a shepherd leading his sheep.

It's so cool to bash the Pens. You know, Brian, there are many things in hockey, accepted and even cherished in the name of tradition, that some think shouldn't belong in it. It's a beautiful sport that can be ugly, violent, and incredibly unfair. I'm a middle-aged, suburban fan who's never picked up a hockey stick and I know that. Adam Graves, your forebear, two-hands Lemieux and breaks his wrist--it's being a "warrior"! It's the playoffs! Part of the game! Someone makes your 6'7" 250lbs. worth of jagoffedness look bad without even trying--doesn't belong in the game. That's why you're pissed off. Try saving face on someone else's time.

I was going to respond with the appropriate yawn, but I'm getting ready to paint my face for the POs.

In a vacuum, he has a point. Dupuis' attempted hit was bush league and cooke giving Nash the business was fun to watch, but hardly classy

So in a vacuum, yeah. But coming from him, it's just hypocritical.

I don't think you can look at Cooke's interaction, even in a vacuum, without including Nash instigating it from the bench.

Yes, indeed. I don't mind our team having Harold Beale in Network moments once in a long while. I think I'd mind more if we didn't.

I saw it as the Penguins responding to the cheap shot on Neal, which IMO negates any point he could possibly have.

Nash slashed Cooke from the bench. What's Cooke supposed to do?
The refs won't ever do anything for him... He's Matt Cooke.

But that's right "the most arrogant team in the league... Get away with murder..." Blah blah blah
I'm surprised tortorella didn't complain that Malkin hurt lundqvist's hymen (or knee) by juking him to hard in the shoot out. Bunch of babies, coached by a complete waste of oxygen and carbon matter.

I would have been happy with Cooke climbing into the bench and whacking Fatass over the head with his stick. That being said, I hope we get to meet them in the playoffs and elbow a few of them into unconsciousness.

I'd rather just sweep them and leave elbowing to the losers.

And then appeared to sit behind Callahan as the entire Ranger team stood and carried on with Cooke. I thought the whole thing was pretty innocent and hilarious.

I saw Nash's interview after the game. Re: Cooke: didn't say anything interesting: "That's job his job, I need to focus, blah blah blah."

As for Dupuis, it was a good call, but hardly dirty. I don't think he knew it was icing.

I feel pretty certain that after last night, the Pens are going to face the Rags in the first round. It ain't going to be easy.

Actually Boyle did too. Go back and watch the game. I believe it was when the Rangers were on the PP after Dupuis penalty (and after Murray hit Boyle into the boards). Boyle caught Eaton with what appeared to be an elbow to the face behind the net, which left Eaton holding his face for a couple of seconds before getting back into the play to kill the penalty.

Looked like a cheap shot to me, but there was no mention of it during the broadcast since Eaton shook it off.

Boyle - What a hypocrite. Typical Rag player projecting his own inadequacies onto others. Must be learning from his piece of garbage coach.

I would rather have not seen Duper end up in the box but I'm pretty sure he was sticking up for Neal and his retaliation was understandable. Refreshing to see our guys sticking up for each other.

The way I perceived what Duper did was a, "I could've crushed you but I didn't," type situation.

That's exactly what he did, missed on purpose.

Count me in that number. Dupuis is a hard ass player, but is he a dirty player? Absolutely not.

I agree with the two above. #9 didn't realize the icing was coming, and he took a careless, but not a dirty minor penalty.
