Personally, I welcome the bandwagon fans...

Postby ExPatriatePen on Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:55 pm

.. But I can only imagine how many new converts there will be if (or should I say when) the Pens have success in the playoffs this year.

For those that have never experienced the joy (and the soul draining disappointment) that Hockey brings, WELCOME!

Strap in. It's a great ride!

Anyway...if you listen to any other fan base, all we are is a bunch of bandwagon fans, so the more the merrier!

Although I still will be proud of my battle scars for going to games and rooting for the Rico Fata and Steve McKenna years!

I think the bandwagon has already started. If you disagree that's fine... but listen to that... don't you hear the buzz?

Too bad Pittsburgh couldn't import a little of the "Red Mile" that Calgary has. I (and many others) admired it from afar the last time Calgary made their deep playoff run.

"Black & Gold Mile" has a nice ring to it.

Had just as much fun going to those games as I did going to the games in the Stanley Cup runs in 08 and 09.

It is a ride, meaning there are ups and downs...
Who is ready to be down 2 zip like the caps series of 09 and have a comeback?
More than the fans and me; the players are ready~ to take on any style, with any line up.

That 09 cap series was something. 8-)

joy~ i can emote!

20 bucks and I was sitting in A! Good times for sure. But, looking back on it...thinking Lasse Pirjetä was going to be a savior for us...haha

I looked at it the same way I looked at the Pirates now. Going for a good time, and I always got one. Its a lot easier to bring the girlfriend now than it would have been then though, so thats a plus.

Haha no, I met the current girlfriend about a year ago. Just as I was climbing aboard the Kings bandwagon. We were actually talking about the first time we met and she thought I was a kings fan until the first time she came to my place.

Are there still new bandwagon fans to be had? I figured the Pens pretty much tapped out in 2008... If the name Sven Butenschon means nothing to you, get off my lawn....

They reload every January or February. Its kind of like walking rather than riding a horse until you get to battle so its rested. They discard bandwagoners after the playoffs end and then pick them back up midway through the season once playoff discussions get serious.
