Either way, nice to know that they get to add Martin to that group is pretty reassuring. Aside from the weak PK effort, they allowed what like 12 even strength shots?

That was Eaton.

- No rust for Tanger. He was a machine out there and definitely was a relief on the PP for this team.
- Nice to see Glass on the PP for a reward. You have to throw these guys a bone once in awhile and he bit. Good job Glass!
- Vokoun is a weird goalie, I can't get used to his style at all. But hey, it works.
- Geno is not in high gear yet, hoping to see it in the playoffs. That being said, I am not knocking his game.
- Iggy and Morrow are starting to get really comfortable now.
- Jokinen is starting to look like the best Shero deal ever. Mind you I am waiting for the "new car smell" to wear off soon.
- All in all, good game! The awkwardness of adding new guys has worn off and last night was evidence of that.

Even if Sutter plays on the "4th line," that doesn't mean you can't match him up as you see fit. There's no hard and fast rules.

Letang's ability to deke around last night in his first game back was unbelievable. Skill plus cahones as if he screwed up, it was break the other way.

14-87-9
18-71-12
10-16-36
24-27-19

That can still work and probably what we will see with either Glass or Kennedy replacing Bennett at some point.

Whatever the case, Sutter can't be relied to win a draw in that right faceoff circle if the game is on the line. I missed the first period but did he lose the draw on the Bolts first goal? have Jokinen or Adams out there with him to take that side.

Our 4th line in 09 was like Satan - Adams and Sykora, and we all know how that worked out

I see it as essentially two first lines and 2 3rd lines. Just thinking who can play well with who.

The Pens are not really a line matching team. Sutter will never be deployed ala Guy Carboneau or Bob Gainey.

The other team is not going to have an answer for Crosby/Malkin as the 1-2 Center punch. Getting Sutter out against the other team's top line is never going to be done at the expense of Crosby and Malkin's ice time - especially when the game is close or we are trailing.

Bylsma's more of a "play my best players" and roll lines guy. His philosophy is more about getting the matchups he wants for Sid and Geno than it is about worrying about the other team's offense.

Why does it matter? Neil is a third liner at best without Malkin.

Neil plays for Ottawa. Not sure why he is being discussed.

Will hopefully be benched when Sid and Neal return. In his defense, he absolutely freight-trained a Tampa D-man in the corner last night. More of that kind of hit and his complete lack of puck skills would be less of a concern.

I'm a TK fan but it would be pretty funny if the crowd yelled "Pass!" when TK winds up for his 20th shot of the game.

Neil is a grinder. He's a third liner at best without Geno. Didn't you read the article?

Hat tip to Bylsma for putting him out there on the 5-on-3.

I believe Letang picked up the puck and gave it to the equipment manager. They showed him drying off a puck on the bench.

I'm disappointed the Pens don't play the Flyers again this year. I almost hope they get 8th seed. It wouldn't be Neal standing up to Hartnell if they did.

I love what Morrow and Murray bring to this team. Morrow, in particular, carries a nasty, win at all costs vibe.

3 of Iginla's 4 points with the Pens have come on the power play. He looks good there. What's the top unit going to look like when the team is healthy? I tend to think you keep Kunitz-Crosby-Neal-Malkin-Letang together because that was an exceptional unit with Iginla on a potent 2nd unit.

I'm trying to temper my excitement for Jussi because he's been a guy who can give a lot, but then disappear for long stretches. But it's nice to see him step up and produce right away.

Want? Let's see here:
1st line: Sid
2nd line: Geno
3rd line: Jussi...unless you think his productivity is going to slow down. He is on a faster scoring pace, a better face-off guy and more experienced
which leaves us with
4th line: ____
