Barry Manilow is tonight, can't play at the Consol.

Pens Bruins------> Saturday

Pens Sabres----->Tuesday or Wednesday

works with teams schedules, works with arena schedules

There is something to do with the "3 days off" CBA item. Which is why the schedule supposedly can't be altered.

You mean playing 3 consecutive days? This scenario would not see any team playing 3 consecutive days.

Not 3 days off. Teams can't play games 3 consecutive days. So while Wednesday and Friday are open for both teams, having a game on either of those days would have the Bruins playing games 3 days in a row, which is not allowed in the CBA.

Interesting....hockey reporter also just posted on twitter that if tonight's game was cancelled, Boston would have THREE GAMES they need to make up in the next week: Feb 9th VS Tampa (cancelled due to snow), April 15th vs Ottawa (day of bombing) and tonight's game.

That can only happen if the North East division and conference is already clinched.

Which might be the case once the rest of the games are played.

How about playing tonight's game at TD Garden, but without fans? Just get ice workers, game officials, broadcasters, reporters, and players there. Televise it, but no fans.

Huge safety concern too. I mean if this lockdown continues throughout the day, there is no way a game is being played tonight. How are players/officials etc even gonna get to the arena.

Yeah, this is the bigger concern. And just a PR hit for the NHL as well. The city of Boston is shut down, the military is being brought in, people kicked out of their homes, and they are playing a hockey game.

Wouldn't be a PR hit at all. In fact I would spin it as the idea of trying to normalize an extraordinary situation for the people affected. Sports is often times an escape from the real world and for the 3 hours that game is going on, Boston can "forget" what is happening and root their hockey team on.

Spin baby.
