We are winning every game right now without the two headed monster and the real deal. Just make them a top line and let the good times roll.

The bottom three lines above are our current top three lines. what doesn't make sense about it?

if you want 4 balanced lines that you want to roll out all that time, this makes the most sense. Our current 4th line would be our 3rd line for most of the year lol.

If I were playing NHL13, these would probably be the lines I put together.

That is honestly like having two elite #1 scoring lines, a good 2nd line, and a good 3rd line.

someone better tell HCDB because he is currently rolling these exact lines. Taking issue with playing 71-87-18 together doesn't make any sense either. He does that regularly when he plays the "TWO HEADED MONSTER" that Errey always gushes about

Those lines are filthy. We could just roll 1 through 4 and never miss a beat. All 4 lines can score.

Plus Crosby and Malkin. They could be 2 of our best PKers if they were used more often. It won't happen but I'd actually encourage playing Malkin on the PK regularly.

Two reasons I don't like having stars PK. One is the obvious risk of injury from blocked shots. Two is, just like having a star serve a bench minor, if the pp takes a penalty, I want Malkin and Crosby fresh to spill over the boards.

I dont think you'll see Crosby and Malkin killing penalties

Crosby may be out there for the occasional faceoff, but with Jokinen now on the team, it kinda of eliminates that need

Although every now and then you could see them come out for the final 15-30 seconds of a PK against a tired unit.... but thats not really being a primary PK guy

yeah, maybe for a few shifts a game after a penalty or trying to get an offensive spark, or something along those lines.

playing them on the same line is idiotic.... especially now when we have legit top 6 caliber wingers up and down the lineup

I think these are probably the closest to the actual lines to start the playoffs. Sid has chemistry with Duper and Kunitz, but Duper has never really showed chemistry or played with Malkin much. Iginla hasn't done much with Malkin/Neal at even strength when they were in the lineup. The bottom 2 lines will be some combination of what shmenguin has posted, but, I think Bennett will be a scratch. As much as he deserves to play, he's still a rookie. I think most people would rather scratch Kennedy over Bennett, but all indications are that Kennedy may not be scoring right now, but he plays the system well. He has also been a pretty decent player in the playoffs. Bennett also loses out as others have said, Adams and Glass are two of the top PK guys...they both wont sit. I think Adams will get the nod. It's a good problem to have, and shows that we probably have more depth this year than any other in the past several years.

what is really sick who is going to be on the power play. you could have 2 solid units

Letang Martin
Ignila Malkin
Crosby Neal
Kunitz Morrow
Jussi (Malkin) Bennet (Crosby)

You could also just double Shift Malkin and Crosby on both units. So Many options so I would say I would hate for the oposing team to take a penalty.....

I would break Sid and Malkin up for the playoffs. They don't fight over the puck, but when they are both on the ice, everyone holds the puck too long trying to make a perfect pass, and the powerplay is crap.

Crosby-Iginla-Kunitz-Duper-Letang

Malkin-Neal-Morrow-Martin-Letang/Niskanen

Double-shift Letang, and use Nisky when not an option or he's tired. Each line has a good playmaker, sniper, net front presence.

Our PK is mediocre at best with the current squad. I don't see how this hurts it. And last time I checked, penalty killer extraordinaire Craig Adams was involved in the massacre last April. What are we clinging on to?

This isn't a finesse lineup. It's our best players slotted appropriately.

Agreed. You still have Cooke, Dupuis, Sutter, Morrow, Juicy, as pk forwards, and you put Sid or Geno out there for spot duty as needed. You don't pass up a chance for a major ES advantage of running 4 lines that can score for maybe a slight advantage on the pk, IMO
