To every sports/hockey writer-talking head who said Cooke had to fight; screw you.
He didn't have to answer for an accident.
Bryan's boxer shorts must be 3/4 the way up his behind.

Good to see Jeffrey crack the line up and do good.

Coaching used #33 perfectly tonight. So happy not to see a repeat of the isles mess from last year.

finally, a game at home. ;)

The best part is thinking how mad Sens fans and their management is that Cooke didn't "answer" for his actions. What a heel.

Sens hosed themselves tonight. They weren't focused on winning. Their coaches and management have done them no favors with all the nonsense in the media.

Dan H wrote:I realize it's satisfying to kvetch about professional athletes, but that is absolutely not a play most pro hockey players make close to 100% of the time. The pass was about at Kennedy's skates; it's hard to catch the puck there and pop it forward to where you can do anything at all with it. Kennedy put the puck forward, but it was on edge and rolled a bit too far forward. Then he had to reach way forward to try to settle the puck down in an instant to have a chance to get it on net. That's also hard to do. I'm guessing my beer league teammates and I convert that exact situation into a goal maybe 15% of the time. At the NHL level it's maybe 65%, and even the best players in the league hit the wrong side of that probability sometimes.

What makes it doubly hard is that you have to look down to find the puck at your skates and then reach forward to collect it and settle it down. Now, TK could have just swatted the puck on net rather than trying to settle it... but since he had to look down to deal with the pass in the first place, he probably didn't realize that. It's really easy for the rest of us to sit at home and see on a slo-mo replay where the goalie was at what instant.

So, yeah, it wasn't the best play. But unless you can convert that pass into a goal close to 100% of the time, you may want to lay off Mr. Kennedy over it.

Caps/Jets tomorrow is going to be a heck of a game. Might have to have the ipad on that game.

I don't particularly like the Jets, but I get chills of excitement over the possibility of them making the playoffs at the expense of the Caps...

I'm actually kind of relishing the thought that Ottawa could fall right out of the playoffs. Need the Caps to beat the Sens in regulation then the Jets to beat the Caps in OT/SO to make it an even better possibility.

C'mon, man. The guy makes $2M, primarily for his goal scoring. He's had a rough year, and that was a terrible miss. Some of the stuff here is over the top, but the bottom line is that he botched that play. Must score.

Maybe most of the people on LGP couldn't have converted, but most $2M forwards do. Yes, close to 100% of the time.

the pk time for glass was way way down tonight where as kunitz and jussi had more minutes than usual. could be a precurser for what will happen in the playoffs - glass getting scratched.
