Trade Letang and MAF to Colorado for Varlamov and a 1st round pick this year and a 2nd next year. (McKinnon)
Sign Boyd Gordon and Rob Scuderi (or similar type players of your choice)
Resign Dupuis for Kunitz money.
Keep Murray at his going rate.
Compliance buyout Glass and Engelland if you can't move them for low round picks.
Dump Kennedy and Eaton for sure.
Jeffrey showed some promise, but I think its time for both parties to move on in his case.
It would be awesome to have Iginla back, but not at the cost of 2 other role players (maybe deal off Sutter and go super young on defense to squeeze him in? That doesn't sound like a good strategy to me) I'm glad I got to see the legend in a Pens uniform for even a brief stretch of time, but long term he seems like an unaffordable luxury under the tightening cap.
See if you can get Morrow to come back for a reasonable 3rd line salary, if not looke back to Cooke or elsewhere for a 3rd line physical presence. (Clowe? Torres?)
Hope that defensemen in the pipeline keep developing at a good enough rate to replace Orpik and Niskanen after next season.
Work on getting some more goaltending talent into the pipeline (Hartzell is a good start, but I'd like one or two more kids brought in to "push" him along.)
If McKinnon is ready to step into the NHL right away, great. If not, Bennett has shown more than enough to me to warrent a look at top 6 minutes.

Why would Edmonton trade Smid who is locked in at a good price for several years for Letang who is going to get paid plus they have all their first round picks that are going to be off of EL deals rolling in a few years. Doesn't make sense from their side at all.

Please buy out Glass - Was thinking all season that this is a "playoff" type guy to have on your roster...like an Asham, etc. Man did Glass disappoint.

You can't tell me he deserved any minutes over Vitale. There has to be 1-2 players in WBS that would look way better than him at 500k less.

Amnesty/buy him out or whatever the rule is.
