1. Fire Bylsma
2. Hire a real coach
3. Build the roster around his system

it must be me, but I thought Orpik never used his skill set to it's full potential, but maybe it was what he was called on to do in the systems he played in, not sure

orpik has been good down the stretch. good glue player. maybe not the best leader with his ridiculous whining, but still - solid stuff lately from brooks.

not perfect coverage, but sometimes you just get beat by an exceptional play.

If the coverage isn't perfect than I have a hard time calling it an exceptional play. Its an exceptional play if the coverage is perfect. IMO...

Exceptional play? Bergeron walked right past him and Brooks made the softest defensive play possible.

Uh, from what I recall, he was stride for stride with Bergeron, angling him away from the goal. The only thing bad about the play was not lifting Bergeron's stick in the process.

Hypothetically GMRS wants to unload Fleury and Letang. What players would you want in return?

Ladislav Smid and Magnus Paajarvi for Marc-Andre Fleury and Kris Letang?

We're getting absolutely fleeced. Paajarvi is terrible.

Edmonton would be an ideal trading partner. They have some young offense and Smid is the type of guy we need over Letang.

We'd still be getting fleeced. For guy like Letang, you'd expect a return similar to or slightly better than the one we got for Staal.

Ok, add some draft picks then.

You don't understand. Magnus Paajarvi isn't even worth a 3rd round pick. Offensively, he makes Brandon Sutter look like Jordan Staal.

Not the guy you package in a trade for a Norris candidate.

Letang is a Norris Trophy candidate, as crazy as it sounds given his gaffes. He's an unreal talent with questionable common sense. Still, he's extremely valuable and will be highly sought after if put on the market. The ONLY way a guy like Paajarvi is involved in a deal is if he is a throw in. If the Pens were to deal Fleury and Letang to Edmonton, the deal begins with an offensive talent like Gagner, Nugent-Hopkins, or Yakupov, and continues with a defenseman like Smid, plus a prospect like Klefbom or Hartikainen, and this year's first overall pick.
