True, unless your planned alteration is to create odd numbers and mismatches with a rush/pinching d-man - IF there is someone anticipating and rotating back. The old San Diego Gulls were genius at this - maybe Steve Martinson is available as an assistant coach.

Letang's hair sells tickets, too - don't minimize that.

Hasn't this plainly been the plan for the past several years?

So, Douglas Murray just signed a 1 year, 1.5m contract with the Canadians.

Any rumors on what Brendan Morrow is up to? I know many people think he is too slow, but he played last playoffs on a bad knee. Maybe he has more left than we think?

I've got to think the price tag on Morrow is going down as we get closer to camp. He wants to play for a cup contender, limiting his options, and he is running out of time to get on a roster before camp.

Trade Niskanen
Waive Glass

FORWARDS
Jussi Jokinen ($2.100m) / Evgeni Malkin ($8.700m) / James Neal ($5.000m)
Chris Kunitz ($3.725m) / Sidney Crosby ($8.700m) / Pascal Dupuis ($3.750m)
Brenden Morrow ($1.500m) / Brandon Sutter ($2.067m) / Beau Bennett ($0.900m)
Craig Adams ($0.700m) / Joe Vitale ($0.550m) / Matt D'Agostini ($0.550m)
Dustin Jeffrey ($0.625m)/

Maybe a stupid question but can we roll with 22 players and only $600,000 for an entire season - accounting for injuries and such?

I would invite Morrow to training camp, wait until last cuts, sign him. Hopefully by then I could have at least an offer or 2 for Glass or Jeffrey and/or a D man as other teams will gamble that one of them will not be waived. Unload what I can, waive what I need to, we'll either lose them on waivers or they get assigned to WBS which strengthens our farm.

Most Likely Scenario (my prediction and if I was GM)
MacIntyre - Claimed on Waivers ( I assume this because WBS just signed Pierre Letourneau-Leblond)
Jeffrey - Assigned to WBS
Glass - Assigned to WBS
Niskanen - Traded
Morrow - Signed 1 year deal at 1.0 mil
Z. Sill - Makes Team

Would I keep Nisky, Mac if I could? Yes if I could unload Engelland, but then I would have to be a bit more creative and trade a higher salaried player which just isn't doable.

Cap Space per Cap Geek - $1,201,667
