I put mine up and sold them for $120 (I'm in the upper level, double attack zone). Didn't make a killing, but I didn't expect to either. If most people are like me, I'm thinking this team is a Cup contender and will go deeper into the playoffs and therefore that is where I want to spend my money.

I'm pumped for the playoffs, but the earlier rounds don't excite me as much as it did in 2007 after a 6 year absense from the playoffs.

I heard on the post game radio show last night Pens had "Student Rush" tickets available. (This according to the Old 29er.) $20.

Cue Kovy27 rant in 3, 2, 1...

:pop: I made sure to plan to go to one of the first round games this year given the last few years.

Well that would explain the wooing. Nobody pays playoff prices to sit there an yell woo. You can do that for free at the outdoor screen.

Not going to lie. When I heard the wooing, the first thing I thought was Student Rush tickets.

If they had to offer $20 tickets to a playoff game, the sellout streak is a farce. The block of 45 tickets in section 120 also went at the blink of am eye. No one was paying those prices when TicketExchange had better seats available for $60 plus LESS per ticket.

I had some woo'ers behind me.

It also makes me laugh. This is the first game of the playoffs. We go on the powerplay with a minute left in the period, and half the arena bolts for the concession lines and bathrooms.

I did like that when the wooing started, people started a counter "Let's Go Pens!" cheer to drown them out. But by the end of the game, when most folks had cleared out, all you heard was the wooing.

Yeah, that had me baffled too. F getting a drink, I was there to watch the game, and there is plenty of time for the bathroom on the drive home at the Sheetz in Murraysville and when you hold it that long it sure does take a lot of time....

Wooing isn't student rush, those are generally too young for tpb to be "cool." It's mid to late 20's ppl who haven't grown up

Also, they specifically reserved 200 student rush tickets... Yes I'm sure the 1% student accounted for 100% of the woos..

How can you be sure of that? It seems pretty unlikely that they were all of the woos.

Does it have to be a Pennsylvania/Ohio/WV ID? Could I dig up my Clemson ID from 1992 and use it?

The announced attendance last night was about 30-50 below the typical regular season crowds. Standing room tickets are reserved and sold in advance, so I assume they were all sold. Therefore, it appears that they fell short of selling all of the 200 or so "seats" that were unsold prior to the game and designated for Student Rush. So, while the attendance far exceeded "seating" capacity and it goes in the books as a sellout, there were probably unsold "seats".

It's interesting to note that madder-about-hockey-than-Pittsburgh Vancouver had the same problem, with about 200 unsold seats on the day of the game.

http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Lagging+ticket+sales+have+Vancouver+Canucks+offering+half+price+deals+ahead+opener/8318602/story.html

They mentioned disgust with the lockout as being a factor, but I'm guessing that too-high pricing was the main factor, same as here.

Yes, they had student rush.

No, tickets were not $20. They were $30 plus ticketmaster fees and ended up being around $40.

No, they didn't specifically reserve 200 tickets. They had a bunch of tickets on the 100 hundred level available that nobody from the general public bought because they were a bazillion dollars so they went to students.

I don't know why STHS put up with the student rush nonsense.
They should be pissed about subsidizing other people.

Last game of the year - woooers were mostly 15-18 year old girls, unless that's what student rush students sound like - which is entirely possible.

Most of the wooing sounded like it came from section 115/116.

A few student rush tickets were sold in these sections.

I'm a STH and have been reselling my tickets just fine. Not a problem at all. If I'm reselling my tickets at a loss and people are getting in for $20, then I'd might have a problem.
