If he has years left on his contract, yes.

okey.. Yes,he is signed for one more year..
So actually we need next year more of a third liner player as Morrow to re-sign,than someone like Iggy..
Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Neal, Dupuis (re-signed), Jokinen/Bennett as top 6 next year..
one of JJ/BB and Sutter, Morrow, Cooke (re-signed), Vitale, Glass, Adams as bottom 7..

Yes,but team will be really good almost no matter who is re-signed,Im only certain for Duper almost for 100% he will re-sign somewhere in 2.25 - 2.5M per year, others we will see.. on demands, market,CUP chance discount on salary, cap space ...

He's signed through the 2013-14 season. His salary and cap hit for the Pens will be $2.1-million with Carolina retaining the other $0.9-million.

With the showing he had at the end of the season (5g in 9 games) I doubt we would have any trouble trading him if we need the cap space for other players.

Honestly though what is the deal with this guy? On waivers? Then Carolina is offering to pay part of his salary. I had known him as a good shootout guy basically. I figured he'd get a few faceoff wins. Instead he comes to Pens and becomes a point per game player. What's the deal? Is this like Neal where he's a better fit? Or was he just unmotivated while playing for Carolina? What a steal/find by Shero.

Think its a case of being re-energized by his new surroundings. Playing with better players a more skating system which compliments his game. Maybe something in the Pittsburgh water, alot of players say its easier to get up for games playing infront of a packed house?? Not sure what it might be but glad Shero got him.

He got hot coming into Pittsburgh. He's always been a valuable player though.

Role has a lot to do with it. A second line left wing in Carolina just isn't going to put up the same number of points as a top line center (which he was here for a long stretch until Malkin came back).

The reason Carolina had to pay part of his salary was more a bad business decision by them than anything. He didn't fit there anymore, so they thought they could get someone to pick him up on waivers and be rid of his salary. Doing that showed that nobody in the league wanted him at that price, so it gave Shero the edge in a "trade" (aka, salary dump). Had they not done that, because of our need of a stop gap center, Shero likely wouldn't have been able to get them to eat .9 million.

Jokinen was absurdly snake-bit, this year. A great CORSI, but a horrible shooting percentage made him look bad.

He's always been a streaky player. He is a former 30 goal scorer and has put up ~60, ~50, and ~40 points in the last few seasons playing on a pretty bad Carolina team. Hopefully next year he fits into a bigger role here than 4th line C. I could see him working well really anywhere in the lineup.
