Just because the doctors did not clear him

Postby MarioLives on Wed May 01, 2013 1:08 pm

Does not mean a setback right? Was there anything more said about Crosby not being cleared besides just that?

Jesus he isn't cleared because its not fully healed yet. He isn't playing so he doesn't take a hit and THEN hit a setback. When he got hit everyone pretty much guessed he'd be back around now, maybe give or take a week. It's not out of this world crazy that he isn't fully healed yet. From all accounts he's really really close just not there yet. I cannot believe the panic over this

I'm no doctor, and I'm no Rob Rossi with my insyde sorzess, but I'm guessing he wasn't cleared because the jaw isn't fully healed?? I don't even think 4 weeks is a normal timeframe for a broken jaw so if he's practicing and as close as some report, then he's prob even ahead of schedule

Me overreact?? Have you read your posts? Or better yet any of the 62 page in the Crosby jaw thread? I'm trying to calm people down

I agree with dudeman here, most doctors said its about a 6 week heel time, to be honest i wasn't expecting him til round 2. Broken Jaw bone is not something to joke about

I'd guess he'll be out Friday too. Seems like the healing margin on this would be more than three days.

Or it could really be a few hours. They take an x-ray. look at the bone healing and if it's good then he's good to play. This isn't a ligament or muscle, bone fractures are almost always black and white. It's either strong enough based one whatever measurement is being used or it's not. And as of the last scan it wasn't.

The biggest thing for me is he gained the weight back. Almost every bone in his body is ready to play.

Maybe if we make 87 threads about Crosby, his jaw will magically heal and he can play.

And if they keep taking x-rays every few hours, he'll end up with jaw cancer! Quick, start a new thread!

I think a bunch of us convinced ourselves here that Sid would be able to play in game one.

He wasn't cleared because we are playing the freaking Islanders and we don't need him. There's no need to rush him back. Everyone relax.

I predicted that he would not be ready for game one - and since my hockey predictions are usually wrong, I too was convinced he would be playing in game one.

Good lord...he's out because his jaw is not solid enough not to take a hit. So, instead of taking a chance of having a set back, they are going to take their time.

If this Pens team can not beat this Islanders team without him, they don't deserve to win.

That being said. Pens in 5 with or without Crosby OR Isles in 2.
