I think HCDB moved up a few notches of the opinion of this board.

and I opt for Option 3 above

This is the way to go on Friday, if Crosby and Neal are out.

and if Jokinen is also out:

14-71-12
10-9-19
24-16-48
15-46-27

Still good enough to beat the Isles

Agreed. The kid reminds me of a Joey Mullen.

That's what it sounds like to me as well. He's put on a lot of weight since then.

However, he still isn't that strong on his skates.

Yeah, I think it was Mikey that pointed out that Beau has an inline background. When he said that the similarity to Mullen just sort of jumped out at me.

I'm just curious if Mike Lange is going to start calling him "Slippery Rock Beau" :)

I wouldn't call him weak though, he doesn't get knocked off pucks and wins battles in the corners which is why he can still be effective on the 4th line.

When he scored his goal through that little hole on top last night, I said to myself that's the moment a new star is born. I believe that. He does everything well, looks like a pro out there, has size and a physical game, and just seems like a smart player. I don't know what his statistical upside is yet, but he is an NHL player.

And yet, he still manages to win puck battles, because he's so damn smart and shifty.

You'd like to think that Tyler Kennedy was happy when Bennett scored last night but in reality he was probably pissed.

I'm really liking his game. He's patient with the puck, makes smart plays, is dangerous and shifty down low, and will finish his checks.

I'd like to see him develop that second gear, and I think it will happen over the next couple years. His shot isn't very heavy, but its accuracy and his passing make up for it. I can't believe we drafted and developed an offensive, playmaking type winger.

He also manages to lose them as well. I like his board work and don't expect him to win every battle, but there are some when he has the right position and loses the battle due to physical play. He's certainly on the right track.

The kid has big time talent, but the thing that impresses me the most right now is his play away from the puck. For a young kid he always does the right thing, anticipates and reacts like a veteran.

So...,just curious if anyone here thinks Beau Bennett is a "flash in the pan".

I don't, I see him as a solid 2nd liner on most NHl squads, but just wondering of anyone thinks he's a temporary phenom.

What games do you watch? This kid has become so comfortable out there and is very creative and slick with the puck. This Neal injury could be Bennett's true coming out party. He's going to turn a lot of heads!

I can't wait to see him with a couple years under his belt, he's going to add to our already dangerous lineup.
