It's amazing what a change of scenery will do. San Jose fans were thrilled to get rid of him...

Same thing could be said about Dallas fans and Morrow.

I want him re-signed, if for no other reason than the fact that the Pens won't have to play against him. He has been an absolute monster.

I definitely agree with this. Plus, based on how important Gill/Scuderi apparently were to the 2009 team, it seems like Murray may be more important to the team's defense than we might realize. If nothing else, it's SOOOOO great to have a guy like him back there to put fear into the other team every night.

Hmmm. A few weeks prior to the deadline, most on this board said Murray was slow and washed up and preferred Robin Regehr.

Most said the same about Morrow. Glad Shero is in charge.

Maybe will be the only way to re-sign Murray,to trade Niskanen..because I expect similar contract,I wouldnt mind see Brooks go,but I doubt that will happen..

I'm sure Shero will do anything he can to keep him. If not then what, try finding another guy like him next deadline?

I think you are mis-remembering... I think there were a ton of 'he's slow, but...' comments in the trade thread...

I'm going to be very disappointed if we can't keep Murray for next year. Really like what he brings to the table. I'd hate to watch him sign with Philly, Washington, NYR, etc...during the offseason. Hopefully he likes it and wants to stay.

We lose the other 2nd round pick if we either re-sign Murray...or make the conference finals. If we win two rounds, it'll be in the Pens better interest to try and re-sign him, rather than lose him as a rental for (2) 2nd rounders...which, while not Iginla-price, is a hefty price.

I never evaluate Shero trades because while he has brought in a few duds, read Ponijabroni and Kovalev because he was old (his head has probably fallen off at this point), these types of pickups have not been detremental. Shero has yet to bring in anyone that has totally **** the bed so I never really judge until the season is over.

Just read an article on yahoo how Murray is a liability on defense. Let me know what you guys think. Personally, I like Crankshaft and I hope we re-sign him. It also says he is/was dating Tiger Woods' ex and fellow Swede, Elin Nordgren. Maybe she gave him his nickname. :fist:
