Route/Traffic/Parking help....

Postby bringitonhome on Fri May 03, 2013 11:16 am

Going to the game tonight. Will be coming from monroeville on the parkway. Anyone know if the squirrel hill tunnels are closed or if there are major delays due to construction? Also, does "Mario's Tv" crowd limit parking in the lower lot at the arena? Just trying to get an idea of what time I should leave and get there to avoid(as much as possible) the limited parking and or delays caused from construction. Thanks a lot!

If you are coming from Monroeville, you should not even try to get near the old Mellon lots. Turn right off the Blvd of the Allies and park in the Forbes Ave/Duquesne area. Tons of free street parking if you can find it, and $10 lots. Your ride home is straight down Forbes.

exactly what i would suggest. turn right onto Gist St, take it to 5th, then turn left and park wherever.

Just in case anyone was curious. I ended up going to the old mellon lots....no problem whatsoever. Tons of parking, no traffic. A lot of people walking around and such...made for a good time.
