Here's the thing: After all of that it was STILL 3-3 and both teams were in it. The Pens losing is the direct result of Fleury's cowardice. He is afraid and he is not going to be able to get over it.

Afraid of what? He was out beyond the crease challenging the shooter, the shot goes way wide and bounces right toward him. He's late reacting, but he's got to try to get back in the crease in case the Isles get possession of the puck.

He's afraid of the pressure.

Even Hurdle would know that Engelland shouldn't be playing. Hurdle would play Barmes instead, which may or may not be an upgrade.

Just heard on postgame Pens are 3-6 the last 9 playoff games that both Crosby and Malkin have dressed. How do you explain?

he needlessly spazzed out. there's not much else to say.

fleury did his part to contribute to the loss. just like everyone else. but he's the only guy that plays his position and he made the most visible gaffe, so he's getting heat. but it's legit heat.

So he would've been better off staying outside the crease, where he was, and hope no Islander gets to the puck before it gets to him?

You can't win every game in the playoffs, teams are just too good. My only concern is that when the Pens lose, they play horrible. At least thats the way it always seems to me. Have to wonder how you just completely lay an egg in a playoff game at home and up 2-0.

Seems like the Pens play well when they trust their goalie, and if he's shaky, they don't play well.

The series is tied. I don't understand the panic. The playoffs are always like this

The panic is due to the ghosts of the last three seasons.

And let me add to that by asking: how can you honestly be confident this team can win this series.

If you are, it's just total ignorance.

I mean, we aren't working with a small sample size here.

I'd say two games is a small sample size.

Again, if this was a loss where we played "decent" even and just simply got outplayed I could stomach it. But this game was exactly the Philthy series all over again. Get to big lead, let them rattle us and play **** the rest of the game with no effort whatsoever and puke goaltending. Extremely concerning. Nowhere near ready to chalk this up to a "bump in the road."

They stop playing simple hockey and try to be too fancy.

The drop passes NEED to STOP.

They force plays that aren't there

Down 1 with 4 mins left it took the Pens almost 3 minutes to get the puck into the Islanders zone. Who gets the blame?

We registered like 2 shots on a 4 min PP. Who gets the blame?

We didn't hustle or hit like game 1? Who gets the blame?

Everyone. Team loss. Tip your cap to the team that played better and deserved to win. One guy didn't lose this game.

We've been saying that for 4 years now.

Can we call that an unfixable problem?

No idea why this team would be over confident considering their performance in the past three playoffs.

Even Hurdle would know that Engelland shouldn't be playing. Hurdle would play Barmes instead, which may or may not be an upgrade.

I just don't understand why bench Beau Bennett? He didn't make a stupid drop pass.

Sound about right for game 3?
