Play better or sit.....

Postby MarioLives on Tue May 07, 2013 7:24 am

From the post. I wonder if the pens coaching staff would ever tell this to one if their players? It worked for the Islanders.

"Capuano revealed that after the Islanders' 5-0 loss in the series opener, he issued an ultimatum to some of his players -- play better and be more physical or sit."

Well, they did replace one person between games 2 and 3. Although the fact that it was someone who half this board is adamant about is a "blysma boy" still won't be good enough.

I guess we'll find out tonight whether or not we see results from the optional practice and whether or not Dan dished out the same old "get to your game" schtick.

Are we really making a big deal out of optional skate when, was it 18, most of the team skated. Do you think they were carriage riding through central park yesterday and not doing anything hockey related? Please...

If they lose tonight, it will have 0% to do with this scandalous optional skate.

If this optional skate gets both Brooks & James Neal back, I'm good.

At this skate; impressed that Jarome Iginla was in attendance. Another leader by example.

Play better or sit is a great strategy. Now all Capuano needs to master is the art of taking timeouts and we're toast.

I don't know what else you'd do if you didn't go to the optional skate. That part of Nassau County Long Island is a complete HOLE.

Having said that, yes, it's good to see.

People are making way too big of a deal about my optional skate comment. I'm only bringing this up because I'm completely bored, but my overall point was that we'll just have to wait and see how Disco's....whatever he says or does...will pan out. Maybe maintenance will be good for the ones who didn't skate, who knows. I just hope he gets through to all of them. :?

Speaking of timeouts, that was smart (maybe obvious) to take one in OT so that Sid and Kunitz could start the PP because the Pens weren't doing much of anything 5-on-5.

Isn't Play Better or Sit a universal approach used by all coaches, in all sports admittedly or not?

DB tried the same approach, but the players thought he said "play better or Sid".
