Sure the Pens are having issues with the Islanders. The series is tied 2-2. We have home Ice Advantage and like Neal stated it will be loud at the Consol Energy Center. We can't change the what has already been done but we all know the Pens need us the fans to be loud and supportive. We are all in this together so take the good with the bad. We need 2 out of 3 and this will be done. First to 4.... Pens Nation United!

Consol will feel like a library compared to what Nassau sounded like. Those fans were in it from beginning to end. I wish the fans at Consol would do the same, but I don't see it happening. :(

It's so easy to forget how difficult the Stanley Cup playoffs actually are. I fell victim to the hype that the Pens were going to step all over the Islanders.

Look at all of the Penguins Stanley Cups won, tons of tough series.

Down 3 games to 2 against a below .500 Devils team in '91.
Down 3 games to 1 against the Caps in '92.
Losing game 5 and being down 3-0 to the Flyers in Game 6 in '09.

These were all 1st round series. IT'S DIFFICULT. The Islanders were 8-1-4 to end the season. Go into these last 3 games wanting to scratch and claw for these wins. Don't expect a return to what Game 1 looked like. And if they lose tomorrow? Get pumped for an exciting weekend.

This series isn't over, this season isn't over. 2 wins to go.

Acoustics in the CEC are a tad different than in a relic like what the Isle's play in. I appreciate the sound of old arena's as well, but eveything from furniture to finishes in newer buildings is made to absorb and insulate sound better these days. Fans could be louder too...but the age of the building plays a big role.

The pens never trailed in that series...they lost game five by a score of 3-0, if that's what you meant?
Nevermind...read it too fast. That game 6 was awesome though!

A better example from 2009 would be the Caps and Wings series' in which the pens were down 2-0...and were then down 3-2 against the wings in the finals.

You can only blame the building so much. Montreal is loud, San Jose is loud, Toronto was rocking the other night till the leafs got behind, Ottawa was loud... and those are all newer buildings.

I know you aren't gonna have the same acoustics as the Civic arena, but yeah.

Its one thing to have a tough first round matchup and another to have your own team play like crap. The Penguins are dealing with the latter through 4 games in this series.

you could hear pins drop after Sutter's goal and then after Dupuis' goal if you give them nothing to cheer about they dont make any noise.

It's a good point that the Cup teams all faced some challenges early on. We all know the playoffs aren't going to be easy. Even though this series really had no business going more than four or five games, it shouldn't have been expected to be a cake walk. So it's definitely not the end of the world that they find themselves tied 2-2 after four.

It's just that does anyone really have faith that this team can turn it around? They've responded very poorly to adversity the last few years in the playoffs. In 2009, when they were down in series you still had the feel that they were getting the better of the play and that eventually that would pull through. Since then, have they ever really had the better of the play in a series? Even the lone series win against Ottawa in 2010 was not very pretty. I simply see no reason to believe in this team. They are gutless children who shrink when things get tough.
