the crux of this media availability will be to talk up Fleury's "bounce-back" ability for when Dan sticks him out there tomorrow night.

Actually, maybe they can take a train down to MSG and watch two disciplined teams play.

With back-to-back games 6 and 7 looming, taking a day to rest makes sense. The team is all at Consol getting treatment, watching film, and working. Just because they are not on the ice doesn't mean they all got a free day to stay home.

More arrogance on the behalf of Byslma. Rather than practice and try and implement change, more "we just have to work my system" crap.

Really, this is just a frickin nightmare.

Maybe they will hit the South Side the day after getting bounced like they did in 2010 when those pictures leaked. 8-)

Well in a nutshell, Dupuis and Kunitz both stated that they haven't been able to get to their game, haven't been able to get pucks deep and get that extended zone time and are forced to play D more than they want to.

Either they're giving the Isles credit or nicely stating that their system has been solved and what they're doing isn't working anymore.

I believe Vokoun could be the answer. There's no doubt that this team has lost confidence in Fleury and have become frustrated with the way the series has gone in addition to the shoddy goaltending they've received. Nobody is going to come out and say it, they're professionals and support each other, but when your goaltender is kicking pucks into his own net over and over and allowing rebounds galore etc, well it's going to play on you.

Putting Vokoun in there could change the whole tempo of the series. No longer will the Isles get those easy goals that sink a team's momentum, and maybe Vokoun actually gets completely hot....even if he doesn't, just stopping the easy shots and not scoring on himself will go a long way.

I'm putting my prediction out there now that if Vokoun starts, we win the next two games. I honestly believe we'll see a more confident group in front of him, maybe not intentionally, but subconsciously they'll play with more confidence. How many times have you seen a goaltending change turn the tide of a game? And sometimes even a series.

I never thought I'd say this, but I truly believe that the addition of Vokoun and TK could actually make us a better team this series!

Help me understand, guys, because I'm not sure I've seen this before, or I just haven't paid attention if it's happened before. At first I thought this was a closed-door, players-only meeting. This is like a presser?

Holy crap, the Isles have forced the Pens to call a presser in the middle (or beginning of the end) of a playoff series? What?! Why?!

The only thing I worry about with TK is that his frequent wide shots he takes and misses will further fuel the Islanders quick breakout from our zone.

Vokoun is not playing. Sid talked up Fleury. Dupuis said he's their starting goaltender. Ain't happening guys and gals, Bylsma will sink or swim with 29.

At least he's able to chase down a Dman and get on a forecheck quickly. He battles hard along the boards too. I'd be willing to give him a chance.

Bylsma is basically slapping Shero in the face if he starts Fleury. Why was Vokoun brought in? If it was just to give Fleury rest throughout the season, then why couldn't Zatkoff do that? Vokoun was brought in to save the team from Fleury meltdowns and we're witnessing exactly that.

...if he goes back to Fleury I can't imagine Shero will be impressed, nor Mario. You have to do what's right for the team right now, and Vokoun is here for that exact reason.

I already have very little respect for Bylsma and his lack of adjustments, or "way too late adjustments".....not starting Vokoun might be one of the biggest adjustments he never made.

How much do you think that could be posturing for the Isles--like it could even mean anything?

Of course the players are going to say that. They're not going to bury their buddy.

Bylsma's comments last night suggested to me that Vokoun probably will start. It's just too obvious a move. We have 90+% agreement on starting Vokoun. All the talking heads in the media are calling for it. Bylsma's not that stupid. His job very likely is on the line. Essentially the only conclusion they drew from last year is that the goaltending wasn't good enough, hence the Vokoun signing. I don't think there's any way they don't go to Vokoun tomorrow.
