The Pens need to close this out in Long Island on Saturday. Hopefully they aren't satisfied like they were after game one. Memories of Montreal in 2010 and Tampa in 2011 should be running through these guys' minds. Don't let another series slip away!

Great win. Now, we MUST win Game 6. 0-6 in Game 7 after losing Game 6, including 0-2 in recent history. I am still worried that DB will see fit to put Fleury back in goal.

I think the highlighted part is the key. I think Fleury's play was more a symptom of the team playing sloppy Defence as opposed to being THE reason we were losing. Tonight the Isle had very few extended stretches of puck control in the Pens zone. The pens were much better on not making blind long passes.

I thought the Pens did a good job keeping their cool at the end of the game there. Could have been much worse.

Yep. Looking forward to another good game. We can score in bunches--it's okay to play a tight game. I'm happy they came out after the 1st period and showed the Islanders who's boss. After TK's goal they started stepping up in the neutral zone and closing gaps. That will win you games, every time.

Never doubted Vokoun for a moment. Great seeing my favorite goalie on the pens. This is the day I've been picturing since we signed him. I love it!

Quietly, Despres played a very solid game. His skating ability made a big difference tonight.

Agreed. I still think we see Fleury down the road but Vokoun should start Saturday. THis is coming from someone who wasn't convinced that Fleury was the problem

Rewatched the second. Coaches saw something in that trap that made them believe they could spring someone with the stretch pass. It completely broke their trap.

It's give and take. They saw Vokoun being a brick wall. They no longer had to worry if that long range shot off the boards was going to go in the goal--they didn't have to babysit. They only had to worry about their game, and they executed well. Vokoun deserves a ton of the credit. They were still using the stretch pass into the 3rd period. The difference was the Islanders got away from THEIR game, they looked like playoff rookies for a while there.
