You didn't see the word "Vokoun" three years ago. I remember Fleury letting in some horrible goals in that series. Iginla, Morrow, Murray... other linguistics you didn't see three years ago. Unless the Sens pull a Cammalieri out from under the bench somewhere I don't see it being the same. The only way it could be similar is if Anderson becomes a magic wall like Halak did. That's what it will take.

I watched every goal from the canadiens series.
I'd say 1 was a "horrible" goal. The rest were deflections and or wide open guys in great positions to score. He made a ton of great saves in that series, and was 30 seconds (and an early whistle) away from having 2 shutouts in that series.

My concern with the sens is they get physical around the net with their 3rd and 4th lines... but thats what Douglas Murray is for.

Stranger things have happened in game 7's. :)

what's your take on the cooke/ek sliced ligament drama?

It was an unfortunate accident and the Sens will not try to retaliate or get caught up with trying to get retribution on Cooke.
I think the Sens owner hiring a PI to investigate the hit is a joke and nothing will come of it. EK has been quoted as saying it's water under the bridge.

Spezza will not play the first 2 games and most likely will not play until a 4th or 5th game. I will buy a Pens hat and take a pic of me wearing it and post it to this message board if the Pens sweep the Sens as one or two of you in this thread suggest.

It's laughable to even suggest this will happen. Even a Pens fan has got to give the Sens a bit more respect then that.

Game on tomorrow...bring on the mighty Pens. :)

Welcome to the Board! ...dont be a **** :D :fist:

I could see this going 7 games but I think one of the two teams will be able to close it out in 6.

I agree. This series has 6 or 7 games written all over it.

The biggest difference to the Canadiens series is that Bylsma has grown a ton in terms of coaching since then. He was awful at times in his first full season, and he was never able to plan around a team that was trapping or collapsing in the defensive zone.

Sorry but I agree with Mike Colligan -- why should Vokoun be rewarded for his good play by being benched?

I think the Sens were on the rise at the end of the season and the Habs were on the way down. They barely hung on to win the division. The Sens won that series in 5, no real surprise there. The Sens aren't as good as they looked against Montreal, the Habs played terrible hockey. Karlsson is playing well and Spezza mightr be back, but I don't think that will be enoung. Like someone said earlier, the Pens have the "First Round" monkey off their backs: Pens in 5.

Saw this on HFBoards:

Hugh Madbrough wrote:I have a source that is normally pretty good...he said he heard Fleury is starting... I have no words. Keep in mind while I know this person irl I did get this info over the internet.

DB can't really be playing Fleury again can he? I'm not trying to start a rumor by the way. Just going with what I've heard.

Why would you apologize for thinking that the Penguins are going to lose? Its not like your thoughts make them worse or something.

In my opinion the Pens need to hold the Sens to 2 goals max per game if they want to win. The Sens goaltending is much better than the Islanders, and I don't see us scoring more than 3 per game (ignoring empty net goals) in this series. Is the pens defense up to it? My guess is probably not, based on the Islander series.

Sens in 5. :(

Not sure if people are joking or if they actually don't realize that when you focus on defense, you sacrifice offense and vice versa. The Senators aren't going to generate the chances the Islanders did, for the same reason that the Pens aren't going to continue to score the way they did against the Islanders.

ARe you kidding me shackles off baby, pens in five or 6! Pens break goalies. They must work on controlling the play and better break out D. Goaltending will also improve.
