Freewheeling period. We were outshot by 14 to 11. It was a better start than expected. Vokoun looked shaky at times, but made the necessary saves. Nice of Kennedy to draw a penalty.

What's up with Letang really?

Good period. And I still don't see pens playing 100% as they look lazy and make stupid plays.
So the good news, still lots of room for improvments! :D

I wouldn't say they don't scare me, they have some very good players, but they don't have the speed the Isles have or their complete lack of discipline that causes chaos all over the ice.

Crazy how much slower the game is played when we aren't playing the isles. This is definitely a more advantageous pace for the pens and neutral zone is relatively open

I despise giving up the blue line like that. Just stupid. Stupid.

As others have pointed out need to stop send from waltzing in our zone with no resistance.

Other than that not bad.

Isles looked like mud in game 1. Regardless of the outcome of this game, we have to remember that game 1 can often be an anomaly.

Not a bad first. Still too many turnovers in our zone, especially inside our blue line.

Pens look like a team getting ready to get on a big time roll.

Sens are not going to score pretty goals, all of their goals will be in the crease so the Pens need to force them to the perimeter more. The sens are exactly like they were the last 2 times we played them in the playoffs, they score those dirty goals.

Someone is going to have to step up on defense and clear the crease because Vokoun wont make those saves every time

Still too sloppy, but overall, I thought that was a much better period from the Pens than most in the Isles series. They actually controlled the puck in Ottawa's zone quite a bit, and I didn't feel like they were just hanging on for long stretches.

I just feel that no matter what the Sens do, we'll win the series in the end. I can pretty much relax. Isles really did scare me and, if not for the goon stuff, I'd actually like watching them. Nice turnaround for that franchise.
