Why apologize. It was genuine concern for how careless he was playing. There are Geno apologists that will point out how every Penguin had those same careless moments. It stings worse when it comes from a player of his stature.

No apology needed. The concern was warranted and won't even be the last time a WTH is said about his play this playoff.

He played great tonight. Will he play the same way in game 2 is anyones guess.

I do recall a team that looked unstoppable after a game 1 dominating performance against the Isle only to be pushed into 6 games with two over times. Malkin looked amazing in that first game only to ... :face: :face: a few times after that.

We shall see.

This performance was different. The whole team was more responsible and more focused. I don't think we'll see a repeat of the last series

He was playing with his head up his butt and now he's not.
No need to apologize.

Tonight was the fourth time this postseason he's had a great all-around game (i.e. a game in which he wasn't absent minded defensively). Why don't we just make a new thread everytime he plays the way he should!

Gene , like his captain, is now playing the entire sheet of ice! He was at his galloping best last night.
Did they show his parents cardboard faces on TV? Somebody, like the dan potash cardboard face, had
one for Gene's Mum and Dad :D

After all these years folks will still question his loyalty, work ethic; stop it now. He knows his responsibilities to the pens and always tries to do too much. That, can get him into pot holes.

Sergei and Gene had a reunion moment, early in the 1st :D He does have to smile and skate away from
Neil.

I can't remember. I just remember the poster had 2 options for Geno and the better of the two was a hammer to the face

Geno has been a beast on the backcheck every single game these playoffs. The only problem he has had was turnovers. Somehow though a Geno turnover is worth 10 Letang turnovers and he gets called out about it every single time.

Letang was/is torn apart here for his turnovers. I'm not sure that I understand your comparison.

NHL ‏@NHL 26m

.@malkin71_ is the first NHL player to get assists in each of his team’s first 7 playoff games since 1999 (Peter Forsberg & Jason Allison).

Jason Allison is a name out of the obscure.

Yeah, Crosby gets called out too...as does anyone who makes such horrendous plays. When Malkin is on, he's unbelievably good...but he isn't always as good as he could be at both ends.

Also not the best comparrison seeing that one makes 2.486x the salary of the other.
