The one thing he probably would do is bench Crosby and Letang for the kinds of games they played tonight.

Has any team, ANY team EVER in the whole *&$^# history of the $^#&ing NHL, been outscored by 8 (EIGHT!!!!!) goals in the first two games of a series AT HOME????? In the freaking conference FINALS????

Didn't think so.

The Pens looked completely lost, without a hope, without a prayer, without a clue. If they don't find one soon, this will be the most lopsided series in the history of the NHL. And all the Boston players will have to worry about is trying not to snicker as they shake hands with their amusing opponents.

He thinks by having iginla on malkins line that will deter the opposition from starting stuff with Neal and malkin, thereby limiting their chances at taking a stupid penalty. Brilliant

It doesn't matter if Boston traps they just play smart, it has been an easy formula to beat us if the other team is any good:

Don't get out of position in the neutral zone or your own zone, quick transition the other way, cycle/patient in pens zone and they will end up chasing. The first game the Bruins played too tight and backing up, they adjusted and tried to force the play when given the opportunity and it was easy.

As I said in the Sutter thread and this pre round thread if the Pens have a chance they need to play dirtier, dump, cycle, hit and stop this pond hockey in the Bruins zone, it's too easy to defend. This offensive zone perimeter game is terrible. Sid/Geno skate across the middle and make a play is the only "mildly" successful play.

Need to change it up to have a chance, it's not over yet.

....it didn't look like Kunitz/Dupuis were even on the ice the same time Crosby was, this wasn't Crosby or Malkin or Iginla, or whoever it's a complete system wide failure. I find it hard to believe that the maybe the two best players in the world surrounded by all this talent suddenly look like fourth line grinders

Are you kidding me?

What GM in his right mind would trade for him? This isn't a video game! Mike Milbury doesn't run a team anymore, so who the hell would want a headcase that kills his team and absolutely falls apart in the playoffs year after year?

This all started because Bylsma couldn't dare break up the "best line in hockey" with Crosby/Dupuis/Kunitz...

Sorry, you got Iginla to play with Crosby. Iginla chose Pittsburgh to play with Crosby.

Not play LW and play out of position, and certainly not to play on the 2nd power play unit.

Bylsma did not handle Iginla well at all...bad in fact.

that depends on your definition of believe

I haven't seen anything in the last six periods to make me thing that the Pens will win the next four out of five games, if that's what you're asking. I'd love to see it, but based on the putrid D and the shakiness in net, what should I think?

Bylsma/Pens have struggled against good trapping teams for years. They've had years to figure out a answer.

Bylsma is playing Malkin against Chara at even strength, do you know how many goals 71 has against Chara at ES in his career? NONE. That makes a TON of sense.

The guy is clueless all over.

FWIW, my daughter predicted that the Bruins would win the first two games, but the Pens would win the series. That's the only hope I have right now. I guess I should never be surprised at anything - but being outscored 9-1 by so far is a little difficult for me to believe. I'm literally shocked.

On to game three - 87 can't have three bad games in a row, can he?

Not to make excuses, but I think 14 is injured. He looked to be a perimeter player at times, very unlike him, especially in the playoffs.

GIve the Bruins credit, the are playing as 5 man units, and coming in waves. It's quite a contrast to watch their players without the puck - they are covering everyone. Our guys are not doing anything like that so far. Boston is also doing a great job covering our points, we aren't getting many good shots from there.

and the faceoffs - especially in their zone. :face:
