This team has the talent on the roster to win the next 8 games.

Positives

- Pens delivered 4-5 very solid hits on Bruins D the rest of the game (its a long series)
- Pens did not succumb to goonery, lost with a modicum of class
- No one is blowing up in the locker room (mind you, many an internet message board has achieved critical mass)
- Both Pens goalies saw action, a little less rust for MAF, rest for Vokoun
- Proof that Rask is beatable
- Pens hatred of Bruins has increased, they need this to execute physical play
- Boston is going to be "overconfident"
- the 2nd & 3rd period were basically throw away. Bruins trapped/clogged and otherwise hooked/held/interfered their way to victory. The loss was 2 turnovers early, forget the rest

I said this at the game last night and people just looked at me like I had lobsters growing out of my ears.

We probably aren't, but I wish we were. What use is a defenceman who doesn't want to play defence?

Re: OP, the one positive is that we got murdered. You can't pretend you were unlucky when you lose 6-1, you have to ask why.

Letang looks like he plays best when he's paired with Despres. Its more of a chemistry thing than the play Depres brings to the table, and at this point it can't look worse than as Eaton/Letang or Niskanen/Letang.

To a point, the pairing matters, but that doesn't account for some of his terrible decisions or his tendancy to forget which goal he's supposed to be defending.

Yes, but the talent needs to be directed. Based on last night this is a rudderless ship. And without a rudder, even the USS Enterprise ain't going nowhere.

Oh, the positives from last night, I got to go to sleep early, unfortunately not as early as the Pens, but early.

somebody else mentioned it but the biggest positive is that they took the loss like men and didn't de-evolve into the circus game 3 in Philadelphia became last year. Maybe that happens Wednesday, though.

A positive is the suffering should only last 2 more games and then it's summertime.

The biggest positive? With a defeat that stings this deeply, getting utterly humiliated like that, the Pens now have nothing to lose. They can go out and there and have some fun. Let go of the expectations. Let go of the enititlement. Play some young guys who are hungry. Give Iginla and Morrow more prominent roles, since they might not get this far again... Let loose and see what happens.

- Pens have arguably the best roster in the league
- Pens have the best player in the league
- Pens should be back on earth; sober; grounded
- Bruins have been in desperate hockey mode since they faced elimination; the Pens should now also be in desperation mode
- There are successful adjustments that we've seen from the Pens during the regular season that have not yet been applied to this series
- Team history of coming back from 2-0, 3-1 series deficits

Funny...

Did you see the goal from marchad where cooke wanted to hit him and wiffed . he let marchand duck and be wide open for the goal.
he lost his guy so he can get a hit...and he did make things happen.

I heard them talking about that at intermission. Cooke didn't miss a hit, he just got beat coming back down the ice because for some reason he drifted down towards Boston's end from Marchand. And then Fleury gave up an awful goal.
