Wake up Sidney Crosby!

Postby pcm on Wed Jun 05, 2013 2:24 pm

Is he a leader or just a whiny superstar? A regular season phenom? Did he achieve too much at too early of an age? Did his concussion mess up his game? Has the Penguins organization coddled him beyond repair?

These are harsh questions; but they're going to be popping up like polypores on a rotten poplar if Sid doesn't wake up against the Bruins, starting tonight, and lead this team out of the darkness.

This is the best team Crosby will ever likely be a part of in the NHL. This is his opportunity to show that the past 4 years have been a bad dream. This is his chance to be a leader.

I don't need him to rack up points or score the winning goal. I just need him to go out there and play the way a champion plays: focused, determined, smart, responsible.

Lead the way Sid, and victory will follow.

What is with all the hate for Sid all of a sudden? One bad game and we feed him to the sharkticons? Anyone would think he was a goalie.

Does he need his jaw guard back? Thats the only difference between last series and this one. The pens are 2-0 in series with the jaw guard. Maybe put one on Geno as well.

That and the fact we're playing the 2nd best team in the conference and not the 7th seed who got in on the last night of the season

^That's awesome.

The "hate" you speak of is inside you. Feel your anger...

But no, seriously, I'm just predicting the questions that will come from the hockey world if Sid and co continue with this sinking ship, if they don't right things, starting tonight. He's the leader of this team, a team that's underachieved for what would be 4 years running if they don't make a series of it against the Bruins.

Fixt because they're well on their way to showing they may just be the BEST team in the conference, even if they were the second seed.

what's wrong with this thread, exactly?

sid has fallen to the point where he has something to prove. he's in that picture sleeping with the cup after a series of ineffectiveness against detroit. then he embarrasses himself in game 7 against montreal. then he REALLY embarrasses himself last year against philly. and this year, once he's facing a legitimate opponent with an actual defense, he's doing nothing.

i love sid, but he needs to step up.

Wayne Gretzky didn't win any Cups after the Oilers won 4 in a row in the mid 80's (I understand 4 > 1, but the eras aren't comparable at all).

Must mean he sucked and underachieved the rest of his career :pop:

In the context of championships... yes, as a matter of fact, he was an underschiever.

Well, they have won two playoffs rounds. For some that is nothing, for others it's something.
