Geno

Vokoun

That's it. That's the list. Outside of those 4, given the right circumstances, anything can happen.

I'll be in disagreement and add Kunitz, Neal, Sutter, Martin to that list. They're going nowhere

I would agree. I just was speaking on hypotheticals. Just saying that in no way would those 4 be moved UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Perhaps just my opinion, but I don't think Malkin is untouchable.

It is your opinion. Don't be afraid to express it dude! Totally understandable that you feel that way.

The law of averages says that Sid and Geno are going to avg 3ppg the remaining 4 games. That's extremely positive. GO PENS!

What about Bylsma? He is untouchable?

Please explain to me how this is going to happen. You can't just cut a guy and his salary is off the books. Ask the Flyers how they like the Briere deal. :face:

Who in the world is going to trade for Fleury and his 5 million? Nobody. His confidence is gone. He makes way too much that no team is going to bail into 5 million for a zero confidence goalie. You can get a shaken goalie like Fleury for the league minimum.

We buy him out. Yes, it costs the Pens money, but not against the cap.

It will cost about $7.5 million to dump him with. I cap hit. Do it.

I'd rather pay 7.5 over twice the length than 10 for two more years of him.

Pens could get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for MAF.

I am beginning to hate the playoffs. Especially these overtime games, I say go to shootouts. This **** is bad for my nerves.

I think they try to keep Letang. I think Shero has a number. And it is not a big one, probably 5 at the most. Letang says ok, or he is gone at the draft.

I think they keep Malkin, unless he doesn't want to be here anymore. If that is the case then he gets the Jordan Staal treatment.

pressure=9Pa wrote:Malkin is safe if he's fine with his current salary. If he wants to max out, it would have to be elsewhere. The last five years 87-71 have played together in the playoffs read: Eastern Conference Champion, Stanley Cup Champion, second round exit, disasterous first round exit, Eastern Conference Finals.

They averaged 9.5 wins per playoff season, and that assume a loss on Friday. That's hardly justification to blow up the current model.

Sure it is! Your goal is the cup. Not to win 9.5 playoff games a season. We've been picked to win the cup every friggin year and barely escaped the isles this year, blew last year and sucked against the lightning and habs before that.

It's. Not. Working.

for all the deserved Letang hate, 44 couldn't have played Bergeron any worse on the GWG. Backing up, backing up, backing up, doesn't get his stick down, doesn't do anything.

If Shero picks Letang over Malkin after these playoffs then he needs his head checked. If you can only keep one, its a no-brainer.

Holy crap dude, yes they are favorites to win every year, but that doesn't mean they are favored over the field! We got to the conference finals with a really good goalie...we should not be getting swept, but this series is literally two pipes away from being 2-1 in our favor...

Just curious.

Who would you think gives that up for him?

The only teams I can see even having interest in him at all are the following:

Calgary - Kipper is retiring
Edmonton
Winnipeg

Devils - Brodeur is on his way out. (Not serious, no way MAF fits the Devils style)

Yep, looks to me like the better team is winning. I know if we were up three zip, we would be saying we were the better team, not just lucky.

Its just a guess. He's still young for a goalie. There will be some team that will think they can turn him around.

Calgary, Edmonton, NYI, and Phoenix come to mind for me. Add in Buffalo if Miller is booted out which looks very possible.

If we get swept by Boston, it's an embarrassment for this team that looks at itself as a legitimate contender. We haven't even been in the lead in the score the entire series.

We don't have a bunch of bad players. It really looks like a coaching change is going to happen.
