Backs to the wall, time to win

Postby thepittman on Thu Jun 06, 2013 12:24 am

I believe the Pens now know what it takes to beat the bruins. The fight is in them and history will be made.

I like the sentiment, but the party is over, folks. Just not our year.

No chance - Crosby average, Ignilia and Morrow brought nothing and Pens coach plays a tweeners like Engeland and Vitlay over solid NHLers like Kennedy and Depres. This team is suffering from Sheroititis. Time to fire Shero and Bylsma.

Party is over. They'll win gm 4 but that'll be it. They're so predictable. Passing is awful, no pressure in front. Crosby finally showed up in 2OT after losing his lid. Malkin is somewhere else half the time and is tanger a defenseman or a forward?

Perfect timing to collapse. I think the week off got to their heads.

Penguins are 2-0 when I'm at a Civil War reenactment and unable to watch. Let's make it 3-0 and start the grown-up version of WBS vs Providence.

3 teams out of 176 have come back from a 3-0 hole in NHL history. Not good odds, but still a 1.7% chance.

Lets party like its 2010 Bruins. You have this wrapped up and nothing to worry about. You can let up off the gas now and focus on the finals. Rask will continue to stop nearly everthing, and what he cant get to will just keep bouncing off the post like it has so many times this series. Crosby and Malkin will never get on the scoresheet again, and the pens power play wont score once this series. Relax and enjoy yourself Boston. You guys got this all wrapped up.

If that's the case, we're going to need you to saddle up with Sherman. That should keep you busy for the next couple weeks. We all have sacrifices to make and if it means you have to raze the city of Atlanta, well so be it.

Sorry you'll miss the rest of the playoffs. We'll send you telegrams to keep you updated.

I'm usually Confederate, and Chambersburg is closer. But, if putting on the blue and going down to Atlanta helps to win the Cup, so be it. No one likes Atlanta anyway, Sherman was a visionary.

The pens created that depression. Our power play is laughable and our two stars are choking their chances at a cup away.

0 points = no way to spin it to say they've done their part.

Your kidding right? Kennedy a solid NHL'er? His defensive was horrible all year and does not contribute to faceoffs or even battling behind the net where Vitale does. I do agree Despres should be in, but after last nights game thought Engeland played very well.

I think it's pretty obvious Kennedy would have been a better choice over vitale last night. That's just a poor characterization of TK right there.

The Pens did not lose a game in March so they can win 4 straight, that's not the issue. The issue is with their power play mostly, and the way it's playing, the odds are even more against them.

Having said that, if they win game 4, they might start believing. A win in game 5 would then put all the pressure on Boston coming back home for game 6. And anything can happen in game 7.

As for last night, no complaints except for the power play. I really wanted to see them pull that one out for Vokoun. He is the backup, and he played like a superstar. I've got no problem with him being the #1 next season provided they find someone younger who can split the duties with him.
