If Montreal would concider dealing i would want Jarred Tinordi 6'6 215, but as some suggested earlier for a team to carry Subban and Letang would seem like over kill.

But Jarred is the type of guy i would want, still on a entry level contract but you know he has a long career ahead of himself. Their first round pick and a NHL player or a star prospect would get this done for me.

Some of you might remember his dad who played for the Northstars in 91.

Shero knows what he has in Letang... and he will not just give him away.

The ducks carried Pronger and Niedermayer.

True, while both of those are high end defencemen they are 2 ver different types of players. While Subban and Letang are almost mirror images of one another. But hey if Bergevin wanted to do this deal i don't see a problem with it.

Montreal has some decent pieces. Tinordi, Galchenyuk, Pacioretty (I probably butchered each of those). Anaheim is another team I would consider, if they would go for it...probably wouldn't involve Fowler though.

Tampa is the other one I think would be active on a guy like Letang. Problem is they don't have much to send back in return...

We've discussed the likelihood of a Hedman/#3 package from Tampa.

In a similar vein, would it be any more likely to pry a Johnson/#1 package from Colorado?

I don't think it would be likely, but I think it would definitely be more likely to work something out with the Avs.

TB has some cap issues to work out befor they concider working out a high cap hitting deal. With how much Colombus has been improving their team i wouldn't be suprised if they make an offer, not sure what if any peices they have to offer.

Columbus is going to be in the Pens' division next year, won't they? Not sure if that is the best spot for him.

The only thing with that is Johnson is the only not terrible d-man they have. It'd most likely be a forward + the #1 which would be used on Jones

The pens would take the #1 from COL, but Johnson...well, if he isn't a bust...he's in bust territory. It's not entirely his play, which hasn't been as stellar as anticipated, but the guy is simply never ever healthy, and just never has quite the impact he should when he is. Three or four years left on a hefty deal too.

No, but even if he were...that's the last thing wrong with the proposal.

Alright. I wasn't totally sure where Johnson's stock was but I figured at worst he was a cheaper stop gap who could serve as a steady minutes-eater in Letang's place.

And if the Pens did get the #1 pick, I'd rather see them go with one of the forwards over Jones.

Yeah he is. There was a bit of a hissy fit that Duchene wasn't made captain. If Supreme Leader Roy wanted to change things around, they *could* trade Landeskog and make Letang captain...

If he was entering his last year, perhaps not such a bad thing, but he has 3 years left @ $3,750,000. Who knows, maybe he'd actually be worth it...but I wouldn't bet on it given his resume so far.

But Landeskog is going to make big bucks in 2014, so it sorta minimizes the point of trading Letang, to which there isnt much point anyways.

Three years wouldn't phase me because that's probably at least how long it will take before Pouliot and company will be legit top pair guys. But he'd have to actually perform obviously.

That is pretty bad. Letang could net a way bigger return even if it is at the 2014 draft.
