Totally done.

I can't fully support a team with Dan "one look" Bylsma at the head. He can't adjust, can't win when teams really game plan and adjustments are necessary...in post season. Regular season, there isn't much time so there isn't much practice and scheming based on one team.

I'm moving on. I'll support the players but the organization is losing their prime time frame to win a cup or two with a special core.

The Pens will still succeed in the regular season. There won't be a chance for a Therrien-firing repeat situation. We gotta wait til the playoffs to be let down again. At least one more wasted year of Sid and Geno in their prime.

Sad day in my life...
As the pens have decided to model themselves after my other favorite team Arsenal of the EPL...

Congrats everyone! Let's celebrate fourth place!

Something needed to be done. Pens got lucky having to play the 8th and 7th seeds. When they played a legit team, they got schooled 4 straight.

Who does that fall on? I guess nobody and we are happy with the year we had?

I think the only Trophy Crosby is really missing is the President's Trophy. I guess they're just trying to build his trophy case. Good on you, Ray.

Agreed. He now sinks or swims with Bylsma, for better or worse.

How do we know that Shero wasn't pushed by ownership to extend Bylsma? Can't hold him accountable if that was the case.

Do you really think, if that is in fact the case, that ownership is going to fall on that sword should three more years of playoff futility occur? I don't. I don't remember ownership in any sport ever saying "My bad, I thought I knew better than the GM. He stays since this was my mistake."

Granato? Not surprised about that at all. I don't think the only guy you fire is Todd Rierden, though. He was certainly not the problem.

I'm going to have a difficult time mustering any enthusiasm for the Penguins this season and beyond with this kind of leadership at the helm. Failure is not only accepted, but apparently rewarded and encouraged.

In all my years of watching pro sports, I've never seen a coach get treatment like this.

Does Bylsma have secret photos of Pens management cheating on their wives and is blackmailing them? Only reason I can see for extending him. Unbelievable.

The rest of the NHL is laughing at the Penguins franchise.

I'm not surprised by it I guess. A little dissapointed as there are some decent tougher coaches out there. Lindy Ruff for example.

I just fear it's going to be more the same in the playoffs. Next years team will not be nearly as deep as this team was come playoff time with the moves Shero was able to make this past year with the Staal and Michalek cap saving trades...

I know this was probably a difficult decision that could have gone either way, so well done by the Pens & Shero etc to get this settled quickly and decisively. Whether it's the correct decision, we'll see. There's obviously no guarantees in firing DB or in extending him.

Now the Pens can turn their attention to two really big issues - Geno's extention and their goaltending situation. I hope that both are resolved quickly as well, as we have a bunch of other issues that are dependent on that, especially with the salary cap etc.

Some FAKE Shero quotes from conference:

"it's not Dan Bylsma's fault that Toronto couldn't put away Boston in 7..."

"looking ahead over the next 3 seasons, it's likely that upsets will occur and we will have an easier road to the cup..."

Two weeks ago, well before the Penguins played a legit contender.... The team was playing well... They ran into a team that is coached by a legit coach that game planned and adjusted to shut the Pens down from scoring 4 goals per game to less then 4 goals in 4 games..

What adjustment did Bylsma make? The team certainly wasn't prepared.

They should have been ready and split the home games 1 & 2. They got embarrassed.... And Bylsma should have been on a short leash after last year as is.

I"ll support the players, Geno, Pascal and others that I appreciate but the team clearly won't go anywhere based off of individual talent and All stars brought in by Ray Shero.
