Again...that's exactly what I love about it. He doesn't want to get caught up in nonsense like that.

He's never shown to be the type of guy who wants to break the bank, be the star of the franchise, etc. Anyone who said otherwise didn't really watch or listen to what he had to say.

This is big not just because we lock him up again, but I think the extension or non-extension for Letang is next and he has a couple weeks to get a feel for it.

Shero needs to know the cap space (without knowing the ceiling) to deal with any new contracts longer than 1 year. One piece of that puzzle is now in place.

In all seriousness, Dupuis can't be signed to a long term deal. Too much money to tie up in a guy like that.

So I guess the new CBA changed when you can re-sign players? Or is my memory of the old CBA off?

Hard to find a complaint here. Letang is the next order of business, and it's a tricky one. He'll want to be paid for his skill set, and not his decision making.

This is an easy one. Trade Letang.

As for Letang, he's not worth it. Certainly not a keeper under the current coaching regime.

Well I guess if his decision-making is as good off the ice as it is on, we'll have nothing to worry about.

You can when Sid averages 10.6 in the next 8 years. Are you crazy?
