It would be disappointing with the year Sid was having to come away empty handed again.

It would show just how much of a joke these awards are if Ovechkin wins it. Of course I'm biased and would love to see Crosby come away with the Hart, but their logic is so flawed on this.

- If you're voting who is the most valuable to their team: Tavares wins, hands down.

- If you're voting who is the most valuable to the league: Crosby wins. The guy misses a quarter of the season and ends up almost winning the Art Ross. Incredible.

So... what criteria did they use to award Ovechkin?

Ovechkin had an amazing run in the 2nd half of the season and was a major part of the caps not only winning the division, but also simply making the playoffs. I hate him because he's generally a peice of **** and everything, but this wouldn't be a travesty if he won.

Yes it would be. His garbage play was a key reason they were in the hole in the first place. So for all the morons who said Sid was out too long Ovie was out even longer.....better to be out of the lineup than on the ice with -2 and nothing on the sheet half the time.

Guy is an attention whoring piece of crap. I'm going to absolutely explode if he wins the Hart much less the Hart and the Lindsey.

BTW thanks for ruining everything Brooksie...you're a real piece of work. Wasn't enough that you were worthless and started that whisper thing about the C a few years ago. Take your free candy and shove it up your ass. I can't wait till you're bought out. GTFO. Just get out you worthless piece of crap. You're a thief. You stole from Sid.

I hope pain is something you enjoy. I'm going to absolutely explode if Sid doesn't win both the Hart and the Lindsay. That's the ABSOLUTE least they can do after this BS we had to go thru against Boston and the loss of the Art Ross. Now I have to watch Chara the classless thug prick win it or Captain Fake Intangible win it. No...that's not an answer that works. We are going to win something because Sid **** earned it. I'm not going thru this **** again. Not every **** year. He's won these awards a half dozen times already...enough...**** enough

Ovy being an empty sweater for half the season should have totally removed him from consideration.

Crosby and Tavares are worthy of the Hart. Ovie isn't. But sports writers are idiots, and Ovie winning doesn't surprise me at all.

So, is the Lindsay and Hart basically the same award voted on by different groups? If so, why is it considered more 'important' (in that the Hart is considered a more 'prestigious' award) to be recognized by the "media" than your own peers? Just a thought...

It's really sad and actually a little pathetic that Ovechkin has 3 Harts and Crosby only 1.

Pathetic.

Ovie please celebrate by hitting a bunch of STD infected sluts in Russia.

Worthless piece of crap. Nice job media. I'm going to send a hate filled email to Helene Elliot of the LA Times who contributed to this travesty. Stupid ****.

The vote for the Hart was:
1. Alexander Ovechkin (50-43-40-27-8) 1090
2. Sidney Crosby (46-42-41-29-12) 1058
3. John Tavares (38-38-33-29-21) 919
4. Toews 886 (39 first place votes)
5. Bobrovsky 311 (4)
6. P.Kane 157 (2)
...
16. Kunitz
...
23. Dupuis

Very very close vote.

This really isn't that big of a travesty. Ovechkin finished strong, Crosby didn't finish. Ovechkin went like a goal a game for half the season and he played more season...you can't be valuable in games you don't play (see: Jagr loses Hart to Pronger in 2000). There's no doubt Crosby was the best player in the league this year, we know that, most people know that. But he missed a quarter of the year completely. Ovechkin was "bleh" for 8, 12, 16 games whatever you want to call it while leaning a new position under another new coach...weaker competition, whatever...I get it, I'm trying to say this is right but it's not this grave travesty...

It was a weak Hart year, Ovechkin pulled it out of the fire with a strong finish (just like Corey Perry)...if Crosby plays five or six more games, he probably walks with it, but he didn't, so he doesn't...
