Nope, but it would be another reinforcement of how bottled up conference and then Stanley Cup finals have become :( Also, I don't think Boston fans deserve their team to win, I watched the bos vs toronto game 7 and down two goals with a good bit of time left their fans poured out of the building.

I was ready to post a similar thread:

What does Boston's shutout of Chicago really say about the Pens?

Personally, I find Chicago and Pittsburgh eerily similar in their team makeup and game approach.

Are we also pretending Chicago didn't already score 5 goals this series while the Pens scored 2 in 4 games? Just trying to understand the frame of reference here.

This might not be the most popular comment on here but I expect Jagr to score a significant goal in this series somehow.

5 goals in a losing effort, or 2 goals in a losing effort. Is there a difference? That is provided of course that Boston wins the series.

I think the frame of reference is rather that Boston is proving to be quite bad-ass right now.

The Blackhawks are 0-fer on the PP as well.

Would it kill some of you to give the Bruins some credit?

The Bs played great and shut the pens down, as hard as that is to understand for some people. Rask stood on his head a few times when required, but our shooters did themselves no favors with the amount of shots that should have been. Boston was and still is playing great, top of their game and they are earning wins by playing right for the most part.

The Bruins do get credit. That doesn't exclude the Pens and DB from being responsible for looking terrible against them. Not sure if your opinion is that the Pens played a flawless series and just got beat or what. I know it's foolish to you for anyone to dare criticize a coaching staff that constantly falters in the playoffs, despite the proof in front of your face, but believe it or not the Bruins could have played a good series AND the Pens could have had a terrible game plan.

Also not sure why you choose to question everyone when you've said 1000 times that you are indifferent to the team's success. As long as they are playing, you're happy.

no way....this series has nothing to do with anything regarding the pens. Period. The Pens fell on face...players did not perform as they should...coaches did not coach as they should...it was a total embarrassment and nothing less. It begins and ends right there. What happens with the Bruins/Hawks has 100 percent of nothing to do with any of Pens ridiculous performance.

The Bruins certainly haven't looked back since disposing of the Leafs. They've only lost twice since and both games needed overtime. It just seems to be a case of a superior system beating superior individual talent when it comes to the Pens and Hawks. And Tuukka Rask, has been the best goalie in the playoffs.

This statement gets weirder and weirder as time passes. The only game they could have won was game 3. Boston was firmly in control for the rest of the series.

If the Bruins win in 5, will the Penguins retroactively have scored more than 2 goals?

Boston held the Pens to 2 goals through 4 games (~13.5 periods) and has held Chicago to 5 goals through 3 games (~12 periods). That comes out to roughly a .082 GAA against two of the better offensive teams in the league. You can bet the league as a whole will be trying to immitate Boston's system should they go on and win their 2nd cup in 3 years.

And their power play and ability to offer up shorthanded Bruin chances on a platter.

And I don't have a problem with the Bruins' style of play in the final 2 rounds. They shut down the two powerhouse offenses when it really counted. Actually, it's pretty incredible.

It reminds me of what NFL teams do to the Patriots each year in the AFCC and Super Bowl.

I think the Bruins win this series, but that in no way absolves the Penguins for laying a giant turd on the ice.

What stinks is that you can see by watching the Blackhawks that a Pens-Blackhawks series would've been as awesome as many imagined it would be. The Bruins are doing nothing more than playing Devils hockey. It is a shame when teams as drop dead boring as the Bs have success in the NHL. Bad for the sport.
