If TB buys out Ryan Malone, would he be a good fit on Malkin's LW?

Price point would be a huge determining factor obviously. I don't think he would be bad to get on the cheap.

I would give it a shot at the right price. Especially if things start to look like Duper is not going to be re-signed. You could put Bugsy on Geno's wing with Neal, and possibly move BB up to Sid's wing with Kunitz.
If the pens do sign Dupuis, you could still have Bugsy fill out Sutters line and swap BB off of Geno's line with Malone.
I would think it all depends on the cost. If under 2 million then I would try it.

If he is bought out, I believe he would receive $3 mil from TB over each of the next 2 yrs so if he would agree to a 2 yr/$1.5mil per yr would that be worth it?

tanner glass is making 1.1 million
So in my opinion, yes... that would absolutely be worth it. But I think it would probably be closer to 2 million

I assume this thread has been started in response to a blog on Hockey Buzz. Malone is made of glass. He is injured-FREQUENTLY. I like what he brings to the table, but you can't count on him being on the ice. Pass, unless there are no other options.

Actually yes, especially if he signed for @ $1.5-2. The Pens could use a guy to play in front of the net, and since DB seemed insistent on playing the one guy willing to do so in Morrow on the 3rd line with "no offense intended" Sutter, I'd say the chances are greater that Malone would get playing time with 71-18.

Nooooooooo to Malone. Especially with the in front if the bet reason. Pens had that guy (morrow) an HCDB didn't use him there.

I would think any club wanting to hire Ryan Malone would fully dictate the terms. He's a broken down shell of a player who now spends more time on IR that the ice. Honestly, $2mil seems like overpayment to me. Malone is at the point now where he has to "re-prove" himself.

I'd buy him to only put him on the powerplay and in front of the net.

Malone was pretty fantastic his last year in Pittsburgh and, honestly, you gotta feel for the guy the way Tampa has gone down. He has played well when healthy, but that's been a very rare occurrence the past couple years. Yeah, if he was willing to take $1 million or something, I would take that chance any day of the week. Much more and you're playing with fire.

I feel like our top six is pretty well solidified if we re-sign Dupuis. I don't think that's much of a need, assuming Cooke or TK (or their replacements) can fill in should one of the others go down. I think we need to focus on re-signing our current players below the Cap.

I'd rather have Clarkson at the price of Dupuis + Malone than having Dupuis + Malone.

I don't think there's many people who wouldn't want Clarkson, but he's probably going to get a lot more than Dupuis and Malone combined.

2 guys with Sid getting older , along with Sid.

For a cheapie amount and if glass is gone; why not? Although, have to check his release speed.
Iginla would get set to take a shot; some bruin would be down the ice with the puck.

solar flares up on blysma not knowing how to deploy a power forward, or Iginla or...
