Letang <> Phaneuf

Postby Seattle-Pens-fan on Mon Jun 24, 2013 11:12 am

Assuming the team cannot come to terms with Letang, what about trading him to Toronto for Phaneuf? I mean the cap hit is more in line with what the team supposedly wants. Maybe Letang for Phaneuf and a pick works out well for both teams.... Just a thought. :pop:

I don't think Reimer is an upgrade, at all, to Fleury. If anything, he'd Fleury without as high of a ceiling.

No way! For all the people who bash Letang for not playing smart... they would be in for a real treat having Phaneuf on their team.

Let me put it this way: would you want Phaneuf and his $6.5 million cap hit?

Yeah the Phaneuf thing is tough. He is also on the last year of his deal. If he could be re-signed for 4.5 it 5 instead of Letangs 7-8 then yes I like the deal.

I'd rather watch Crosby school Phaneuf 4 times a year than watch Phaneuf get schooled 82 times a year.

Only 82? I think you're underestimating by quite a bit

In my example, times = days (poor word selection on my part), so I agree with more than 82 times.

Ahhh, I see. I thought you were referring to it happening only once a game.

I would normally say the same, but given this thread's reaction, I don't think he's overrated on LGP. :pop:
