Thanks--I actually got confused for a second. It's been a long day procrastinating things I really need to be doing in order to follow the draft and the Bucs.

So many reaches that trading away the 1st for Ifinla who brought no value to this team stings a bit because there are some really good guys still available.

But then again Shero would still have to make a good pick.

Im not going to second guess the Iginla deal. Two mediocre prospects and a first was magic the day it happened. Didnt work out, but I cant complain now after the fact.

Wouldn't mind seeing Shero move up from #50 10-15 spots.

I forget his salary, over 5million? Just saying I heard his quote that he has "divorced" himself away from the canucks.

The refreshing honesty gets old sometimes when you keep losing.

I think luongo has gone from overrated to vastly underrated. I wouldn't want him in my favorite team's crease in the cup finals, but he's a great value at his cap hit.

Not to get off topic...I checked out Luongo's contract on cap central. They have the following locked up on d for years to come:

Bieksa $4.6MM
Garrison $4.6MM
Hamhuis $4.5MM
Ballard $4.2MM
Edler $5.0MM

5 d men $23MM that's a crazy amount of scratch to have tied up in 5 d men...

Well at least we are only 22 spots down from where we would be if we had our original 1st round pick.

"Hey, how are you?"
"Fine, I just traded Corey Schneider for the 9th pick in the draft"
"Nice"
"How the hell did you get a 2nd round pick for Tyler Kennedy?"

It is when you start seeing some of the names going now that you realize what gambling and losing does to you in the long run. Iginla was such a void that giving up some potential forward studs in the future starts to sting. I was a huge Hartman fan after watching the U-20 tournament this year. There aren't any guarantees but Ray's ability to draft forwards after the 1st round has been a complete disaster. The pipeline is empty and the geezer squad we have right now needs prospects who will be ready in 2 years.
