Kobesaw is the kind of gritty well-rounded player we need for our 3rd line... if he's still got it.

Kobesaw-Sutter-D'Agostini would be the right "formula" for a decent 3rd line.

In one shift, Malkin highlights the high risk/high reward nature of how he plays the game.

Sweet!!!!!! More stretch passes and east west plays between Malkin and Neal. You would have thought this would have been addressed in the off-season.

well....I see that Malkin has started up right where he left off..........lovely pass, Geno. Just lovely.

Preseason habits become regular season habits....just ask Roethlisberger.

I don't think you need to queue it, I'm pretty sure its SOP after last year's playoffs.

My thoughts from Section 119:

-Kobasew made a pretty convincing argument to be handed a spot. Blocked a few shots on the PK and potted 2 goals.
-Niskanen made a pretty convincing argument to be traded. He appeared to have regressed some, and was responsible for leaving Anisimov wide open for the 1st goal and allowing Dubinsky to screen Fleury on the 2nd.
-Neal might put up 50 this year. Just seemed to be in the right spot to get a shot off every time.
-Malkin is in midseason form, both good and bad. He made some great plays to extend the play, then made some pretty terrible decisions with the puck.
-Dumoulin looked OK. Kinda shaky on the PP. Looked unsure of himself, and made a few errors.
-I think Jesse described Bobby Farnham as "Old Matt Cooke without the skill" on Twitter prior to the game. I'd say that's an apt description, considering Farnham did nothing but try to hit people and ultimately ended up hurting himself trying to hit someone instead of playing the puck.
-I also liked Andrew Ebbett's game, and hope he sees some time if injuries arise. He had a few solid blocks, was good at finding offensive space, and was also able to keep the cycle going.
-Joe Vitale didn't really look that good, and aside from his goal, neither did Jeffrey.

All this considered, it's only the 1st game of the preseason. Lot of time to flesh out the roster.

Why does everyone juice over these new guys? Kobasew (sp) is a castoff. This is not some amazing find.... Same thing different year.

Because Kobasew played really well, especially for a guy playing his first game on a new roster in a new system (for him). It's not "juicing" over him. He played a good game. Like I said, it's one game, but he played pretty well. Well enough that it should be noted.

Why do you always post about about the Caps?

Back to that huh? Go spend your next Saturday night researching the last time I posted about the Caps. I know it might take away from your DnD playing, but if you are going to try and be the cool guy, better back it up with facts.

Lol.

Seriously. Someone wanted to know how people looked. I gave an opinion. I don't know why you care that people thought Kobasew looked good.

Better back your crap up with facts. Kobasew looked good. That is why people are saying he played well. It's not new toy syndrome. He played well. We all know it's only one game, but it was a good one. No need to murphydump™ all over everyone looking for something to look forward to.

And learn to take an effing joke.

you took a dudes opinion of a player based on a limited sample size and condemned his opinion as juicing over the new guys yet felt butthurt when he made a jab at your caps fears with a greater sample size?...lol? Randall never said he was going to take over the world or be a productive member of the team, he said he played well. Kobasew was one of the harder working dudes on the ice. Why bash Randall like some juvenile ninny when he gives an opinion?

Low rate trolling at it's finest. No where near the glory days of trolling that used to make us laugh, and it can't hang with the mid-grade trolling that sometimes drives home a good point... this is the stuff of the "I have nothing do to but bait people into a situation where I can bash them so that my ego can feel a temporary high, regardless of the subject matter or stance" trolling. It is truly the bottom feeder of the troll family.
