I really don't have a problem with Adams outside of what was said that he never gets scratched which makes zero sense for a marginal 4th liner. My only issue is with Glass who has consistently shown nothing, was a playoff scratch, and was the least impressive player in camp.

I have one hope only. That Shero is auditioning him to try and get something in a trade for him. His cap hit and return on value is simply horrible.

My guess for opening night roster.

D'agostini will either go on IR or will be sent down through waivers

This team is still 1M over the cap.. Niskanen,Glass i dont know, someone will have to go..
I like top 3 lines and top 4 d pairings, but Despres will probably replace Niskanen on #5 spot, because of salary cap. Jokinen is just too important to us,versatile player and also good replacement if Geno or Sid get injured. Fourth line I wish would be younger and more aggresive - something like
Sill - Jeffrey - Zolnierczyk :) Glass gets traded.. Vitale and Adams reserves for now.. D'Agostini I expect to be in AHL,if not claimed.

I still don't know what to make of Jeffrey. Extremely quiet some games and then scores 2 goals over the next 5. Doesn't hit, isn't big, doesn't play an agitating or grinding game, isn't a specialist. I wonder if his "once in a while" goal production is enough to keep him around. He's a tweener kind of like Letestu was. Would probably serve him best to be traded to a team with lesser talent where he could really get a chance to play.

Jeffrey could be a solid player on a bad team. But I don't see a spot for him here especially down the middle and he's not physical enough to claim a bottom 6 wing role. But neither is D'Agostini so we'll see.

But I'd still keep Jeffrey over Glass and Adams though if Kobasew makes the team since he can pick up the PK. There have been worse 4th lines in the history of the franchise than a potential Jeffrey-Vitale-Ebbett/Zolniercyk line.

Jeffrey got a glowing review from HCDB on the official site today. Mentioned him as "centering the fourth line". Not a grinder, but as a faceoff guy.

I love Vitale. He creates something out of nothing, but gets nothing for it. At least Jeffrey gets the odd goal and can be used on the PP. If Vitale gets sent down, he'd be grabbed by someone.

Glass Jeffrey-Adams might be the biggest line of suck we've seen in a long, long time.

The bottom 6 will be the downfall of this team come playoffs, not Fleury. IMO

I don't see how we can ice the currrent lineup (for today's game + Martin) and get under the cap. Zatkoff + Kobasew's contracts would put us $2m+ over. Subtract Despres and even D'Agostini and we're still over by a bit. No way they send Bennett to the minors for 10 games (would it would take to LTIR Vokoun). So that means Glass is probably getting waived. I guess Vitale could also be waived, but that'd be stupid.

On further consideration, I don't know if waiving Glass or Vitale would be enough, as that wouldn't leave enough room for a 13th forward.

I'm sure Shero and company have a plan to be cap compliant.

I wouldn't be too happy if they waived Vitale.

It's an absolutely brutal 4th line. Can't wait to see the puck in our zone 95% of the time that line is on.

Eh. I know people like him for speed, but he's made some.really boneheaded plays and taken some bad penalties that 4th liners shouldn't be making/taking.

Jeffrey > Vitale. Adams > Vitale.

Thas said, I wish we had more speed, especially in the bottom six. I might even miss TK a little.

Sending Glass and Engellend down and then D'Agostini so we can sign Kobasew gets us down to 21 players and around $400K under the cap.

I doubt either gets taken and even if both do I don't see a problem. we won't see a 13th forward on the roster for a while.

The roster fielded today with Vitale, D'Agostini and Despres sent down is only $300K under including TV's $2 million hit.

Glass and Adams to me are problems, especially Glass. I like Jeffrey. He's the bright spot on that line. He will finally get his big chance this year to prove he's more than a tweener.

Vitale, Jeffrey, Harry Z as a 4th line works for me.

A 4th line with Adams looks ugly no matter who else is on it.

Glass, Jeffrey, Harry Z.
Glass, Vitale, Harry Z.

Any combo works as long as Adams isn't a part of it.

Especially if he does it with Glass and Adams on his wings.

But it looks like he'll also be getting PK and 2nd PP time. I could see him outplaying Kobasew and winning a permanent spot on the 3rd line.

sutter, jeffrey, adams and glass all in the bottom 6. it's a shame morrow is off the table. his skating would fit right in.

Just an additional point, any scenarios that get rid of both Glass and Engo are out. We would be the wimpiest team in the league seeing our stars get their faces pummeled in nightly without a good fighter. My guess is Engo goes nowhere. Period.

as jack edwards would say, glass is very good at assaulting people's knuckles with his face. gotta have someone like that in the lineup.
