Bylsma approval rating poll

Postby count2infinity on Mon Oct 07, 2013 4:43 pm

Thread title says it all. I'm curious as to whether the disapproval is a vocal minority or if there are a large number of people that want him gone.

The options are too black-and-white, IMO.

There's a middle ground, I think.

I know. Just stating that I don't think it's a yes or no question, as presented.

Well, thus far he has a better approval rating than the president or congress (but that's not saying much...)

I wonder if the poll was rephrased if the outcome would be different
Something like "Is Bylsma the best choice for the Pens as a Head Coach?"
Edit to correct spelling..

I always approve of Dan during the regular season....

But if I was GM he would of been fired after the playoffs.

I just want to take this opportunity to say that I'm really liking what Bylsma has done. I didn't think he was going to change the system. I feel like this new breakout has the team carrying the puck into the zone over just dump n chase like a full team of 4th liners would do.

My problem was never losing to Flyers and Bruins...it was the way they lost. It was embarrassing...out coached...out executed...pathetic. Then he would stand up there in the post game interviews like a complete idiot.

I think he is doing well so far this season.

I voted no because it's so black and white and in reality I'm probably more against him than for him, but it's a 55-45 or even 51-49 scenario. Do I think he got outcoached last playoffs? Yes, but there were also other issues as well.

If there was a "relatively indifferent on the coach" option I would have went with that but I get the point of phrasing it like you did.

Martin should be getting all the credit for anything that looks like a defensive responsible team so far this season. Byslma wouldn't know a defensive system if it...... well if it was right in front of his face. He is probably on the bench asking the other coaches.... "What are they doing out there, well tell them to keep doing it is working."

If you haven't guessed I am not a Dan fan.

Here? Sure, if only just by the vocal 26%. In reality? No, this isn't Philadelphia.

I get annoyed with his inability to adapt, but the team is a top contender every year so I'm happy he's getting the job done to that degree. The players not quitting on him after this long is a pretty good sign it doesn't get much better.

It probably has a lot to do with that guy that you know nothing about and keep posting his W-L record without context and saying it was a bad hire and all...I'm glad you've come around on Jacques Martin.

End of last playoffs its probably 95% no.

A 2-0 start and its 70% yes. Interesting.

But hey, I can understand how beating a mediocre and a bad team on your home ice in the first week of October can profoundly impact opinions
