I honestly think he has more bad plays than good ones when he steps out of the crease. It really is on Dan at this point. Coaching has to just tell him to stay in the damn net. He is worthless outside the crease.
I mean I guess he could just let Talbot have the puck alone behind the net with who knows who coming to the front of the net next and his defenseman in the corner.
I know you are trying to be sarcastic, but yes, that is exactly what he needs to do. The goalie needs to stop the puck from going n the net. If there are breakdowns in the defensive coverage then the coaching staff needs to address that seperatly. The pens get in trouble every time MAF try's to do too much. He is not Marty brodeur. The sooner he realizes that the better.
That specific situation, you go to move the puck. I'm not being sarcastic at all. His d-man is hanging out in the corner waiting for him to move the puck, and Talbot is going to be the first skater there.
We are not talking about a goalie with above average puck handling skills here. MAF has a long history of making game turning horrible mistakes when he step out of the net to play the puck. At this point, he needs to simplify his game, with step one being stay in the net. I don't care if the defenseman is hanging out... He needs to retrieve the puck.

What would the Pens do with it, based on what we've seen tonight?
