I think last year would have been the first year of my life where i mostly tuned out, but the shortened season made it more exciting because each game had the added importance. This year i'm missing as many games as I see. I just moved this past weekend and don't have cable/internet yet, but this is the first game i've been excited for, so i'll probably take the hit to my data plan and stream it on the phone.

Definitely true for me. Got rid of the NFL Sunday Ticket after 10 years and haven't watched more than 2 quarters of any NFL game this year so far.

last year was such a let down. hard to get to excited at this point, they're not going to miss the playoffs. It's not like they're ever going to have a system that can win a stanley cup with Corey Crawford quality goaltending. They need the good fleury to show up come playoff time and then they can play with anyone in a 7 game series. Unfortunately we wont know what fleury is there until the playoffs start.

Good Fleury isn't going to win them the cup. Thats not a shot on Fleury, the team has as much to prove in the playoffs as he does. That said, I don't think Fleury is going to be good enough to win unless they go fully defensive as a team.

Goaltending was not a problem in the playoffs once Vokoun took over.

failing to score was. Don't matter who is in net if you can't score.

Maybe it's the fact the pirates were so exciting or that playoffs are a foregone conclusion for the pens... Idk

Anyone else experiencing the same?

I 100% feel the same way. And I don't know why.

This really motivated me to stop being foolish, I know they'll be a day when we won't have the pleasure of watching the best player of a generation in the black and gold (or light blue)
