You could see Crosby's head sink as Kunitz decided of all his options a weak floater directly to Emery was his best idea.

Exactly, how has nobody realized this?

Bylsma gives away matchups on home ice. Completely unacceptable. Yup, that's our coach that we extended. Awesome.

Earlier, Chris Therien was calling for the Flyers to go after Engelland and Bortuzzo.

I miss Paul Martin so very much.

Malkin is going to climb out of this slump that dates back to last year, right?

Because I'm having my doubts.

A great period to start, only to be ruined by Bylsma with a pee wee level coaching decision.

Martin can't take over this team fast enough.

Flyers don't deserve to be winning, they had 2 good shifts.

How on earth does glass, adams, and the 3rd D pairing end up out there against their top line in Pittsburgh?

Why didn't Bortuzzo move the puck and how was that not boarding?

I'm more concerned with production at this point to be quite honest. Looking good means absolutely nothing to me.

This looks like a team in desperate need of a wake-up call. A trade involving a major player, somebody on the coaching staff being removed, something.

Bartenders in Western PA would sign off on that trade.

If lack of production worries you then you should be worried about everybody on the team.

Agreed, but at least he looks into the game and not playing with rocks in his head. This is a start! He's a headcase, this is a start! Considering the way he's looked, I'll take him looking better without the production, and then hopefully the production comes.

Bylsma put his fourth line and weakest defense pairing against their top line when we had a faceoff in our end. Sounds pretty stupid right? Well of course it is and most coaches wouldn't do that. But when you have a coach that openly admits he doesn't put much focus on match ups, this will happen.

Thought the same thing until I watched the replay. Simonds does a great job at getting to the side of Bortuzzo to hit him instead of in the back.
