So we are calling 5'11" Matt Cooke a power forward now? Are you saying we should have resigned Cooke to play top 6?

No, if you read the second sentence above we already have a top six.

:thumb: We absolutely needed to re-sign Cooke.

No, they didn't. At least not at $3.5-mil per year.

It's not 3.5, it's 2.5.

Dupuis' best slot would be on the 3rd line. Every game, his best shift comes after the PP when he goes out there with Sutter and ***.

We'll see how he works with Malkin on the left though. It's feasible he could fill that role well. At the very least, other than Kunitz he's probably the best option.

cooke was part of a unit that did squat in the playoffs when it was needed. he also displayed zero chemistry with sutter all year. i don't think this was cooke's fault, but i also don't think it's worth re-signing him if he's not going to be part of a line that can contribute.

He isn't being paid 3.75 to play the third line. It ain't happening.

Typo on my end, but still too much to paid a 3rd liner - mostly because they're giving $3.75-million to a 3rd liner to create a sort of "offense deadzone" in the top 6.

This is country club speak.
Morrow was paid $4m and played on the 3rd line.

If you're right though, should be good times when Dupuis' 37...

Kid played like he wanted to be here. cant ask for much more. great energy. didnt play beyond himself. got to the net when malkin played his around the world game and cashed in. solid pass on the sutter goal.

he looked emotional at the end of the game like he was gonna tear up.

Dream come true. I like his quote about it today...

Props to the guy. Big heart. Little warrior.

Exactly the kind of spark you want from a callup. Keep him around for a few games and DB will destroy his confidence.

Dupers is very versatile, he'll be able to bounce around the top three lines until they get a combo that they like... I've advocated leaving him on Sid's line, but I think Bennet may have reached the point where you need to get him with Sid for good
