Nice win against a very, very good Anaheim team.

I liked the jump Geno showed and hope he gets a couple against the Caps to get him going.

I can almost guarantee you that he won't be on the top line Wednesday. Horrible management of him. He needs to be playing top 6. He's a top six kind of player. If Bylsma won't play him legit top 6 mins here, then he should be sent down to WBS so he can play them there.

I knew RIGHT after that goal that friggin Bylsma would sit him. He only holds certain players accountable. It's a joke.

And yet the Pens played better once Bennett was off that line.

Beau Bennett played like mud. He gets knocked off the puck like wind blowing a piece of tissue paper.

How many young, homegrown successful players have they produced over the years not named Crosby or Malkin?

shouldn't have given up any goals - like a REAL shutdown goalie would have, perhaps a Ben Scrivens or Steve Mason, or Justin Peters.

How many players have they developed in the past few years?

I cant blame bylsma for this. The seeming young/rookie player prejudice comes down from Shero. Way better to have a vet in there than grow a young player.

Either way, if Bennett isn't going to play legit mins here, he should go down. Would be better for his development IMO.

Maybe they should send Bennet to WBS so he can score some goals, get some confidence and get in game shape?

How many legitimate, NHL-level talent forwards have they had to develop?

The number is less than 5. Maybe lower.

Perhaps that is more reflective of their drafting abilities rather than their development abilities.

I guess Maatta goes against the "hates young guys" mentality so his presence is cast off to the side.

It's both IMO.

Bennett is a top six forward. That is his makeup. Very skilled, creative player that needs to play with other talented guys. Playing him on a third or fourth line is useless. Can't afford for him not to develop. He should be sent down if he is going to be used like this.

Despres had more responsibility than Maatta last year. pop

I don't actually disagree with you, but I don't see how watching a young player's minutes, or even being a little "hard" on him form time to time will somehow damage his ability to learn.

Playing afraid to make a mistake is a great way to suck.

i can't process this adams thing. like...what's even the point of trying bennett on that line? it's a 2 goal lead in november. seems like a nice time to gain some experience - despite whatever he did to get demoted. or you could put one of the worst non-goons in the league in his spot. that seems like a reasonable move.

Depends on the player, and none of us know Bennet's personality. Maybe he's the type to work harder and not let a benching get to him? Maybe he feels like he has something to prove now? Who knows?

I think we're just assuming that as soon as he has a bad game he'll be benched for Engelland, since that's what happened to Despres and Bortuzzo last year.
