With a pen on your roster card.

That was easy.

Has anybody seen a replay of the first Bortuzzo hit yet? Not on YouTube.

Sabres wish their NHL defensemen were as good as our AHL defensemen.

Stop criticizing those decisions. It's not allowed. But also, please don't compliment. That's not allowed either unless pre-approved. :slug:

Also, watching the highlights, similar to the Wings game, the Leafs had several serious chances they either blew or MAF/the post saved, while the Pens cashed in their one or two clear chances.

Not saying they didn't deserve to win these games. They've played their butts off.

Really fun game, I thought the Pens would get smoked going into this one.

Bortuzzo was a beast tonight wow. If he plays like that the entire time Engo is out, if they don't atleast split time upon return I'll be even more of a non believer!

Bortuzzo can replace Orpik next year. Despres will take Niskanen's spot unless Letang is moved and we keep him. After that we can talk about replacing Martin when his contact us up.

But the future is bright. These guys are much better than a a few years back when we saw Engellend, Strait, Lovejoy and Guenin up together.

Orpik Martin
Scuderi Letang
Maatta Niskanen

Despres as the seven. He's been so good.

I think the Pens should trade Niskanen. I realize how good he's been but he's not gonna be here next year and with the way he's been performing we could get something very nice in return for the playoffs. Certainly have the depth on defense to trade him.

I think if anything, you have to wonder why we would tie up 7+ million long term in a defenseman that really doesn't make us better, you know, defensively.

I don't see how you can consider keeping Orpik and Nisky with Scuds and Martin under contract and a very talented group of kids that are ready to play regularly.

Its a bit early for that IMO, but the question is for THIS team, in win RIGHT NOW mode, a core that needs one, if not two more cups to really cement itself, are those kids all in the lineup at the same time the way to go...

If everyone starts getting healthy, a defenseman (and at this point it could be just about anyone) will be moved for a forward in a hockey trade a la goligoski for Neal and nisky or Whitney for Kunitz and tangradi and the logjam will be solved. If I had to guess I still say niskanen is moved for a nice return and Orpik is allowed to walk in the summer, to be replaced by Bortuzzo. Maatta will not be moved and he will get bigger and bigger minutes. What a stud. Ate Phil Kessel for lunch.

Assuming everyone is healthy, they need to move Niskanen for a 3rd liner.

Megna likely out Wednesday per Bylsma's post game scrum. Lower-body injury.

The Bortuzzo hit is a headshot. I think there will be a small suspension. But the Leafs player is a moron. Completely left himself open.

It's pretty hard to suspend a guy who literally stood there while D'Amigo ran right into him. I'd be shocked if that drew anything, but then again... NHL.

I agree but if nothing else, I think the defensive depth we have now makes Nisky movable should a decent asset be offered. No reason to lose him for nothing. Despres and Borts both seem capable of playing third pairing minutes.

We are really talking about two spots for next year. Letang, as painful as that may be, along with Martin, Scuderi and Maata are going to be 4 of the 6. There is no reason not to keep Engllend as a 7th/swing 4th liner for a bit more stability.

If he actually just stood there sure. I think theyll find him leaning into the hit enough to give him something.
