Can't wait for Jeff Carter to produce on Sids line in the Olympics and people start screaming for trades.

Exactly. Totally forgetting that the Kings can't score, and he's I think the Kings top scorer.

Wait. So the conditions for the conditional pick traded for Juicy weren't met? We got some Juicy for free? Nice. Wasn't really paying attention to that situation, but that was written in the P-G.

Acquired C/LW Jussi Jokinen from Carolina for a conditional draft choice. Maybe Shero's biggest steal. The conditions for giving up a draft choice weren't met and Carolina is paying $900,000 of Jokinen's $3 million salary.

Here is what ville is talking about, since he didn't quote or link to the article.

Right now I hope Shero doesn't chase after a Vanek or Callahan even though that would give us the best chance at a cup this year. I would hope he would find a solid top 6 guy who will stick around a few years.

But if Duper is our top 6 guy for the next few years playing with Sid maybe just getting someone to get by this season might be the best option.

Maybe Gibbons would be a solid top 6 if he played with Sid all of next season. He has looked the best of all the WBS guys we tried on his line.

If history shows us, Shero is not going to go into the playoffs with Gibbons playing with Sid. Shero is most likely trying to trade for 2 top 9 forwards.

One with skill (Cammy, Hemsky, Boyes, Moulson)
One with grit (Ott). Not much else out there who are pending UFA's...

I don't see Shero standing pat.

Shero originally said that he would rather not go with a rental. Letang's situation changed the layout a lot. Anything is possible now.

I am nto hearing many rumors with Edmonton, just the usuall chatter. Just suprising since they are so deep with young forwards and so bad with Goalies and defence seems they should be putting some guys on the market to build a better team.

Letang being out the rest of the season opens up some cap space. However, it's also going to cause Shero to hold onto some of his defensive depth.

Personally, I hope they make a few trades to sure up the bottom-6. They do not need to add top-6 talent to this team. The Pens won the cup with Fedotenko and Talbot getting top-6 minutes with Malkin.

It was a 6th rounder if he played 50% of our playoff games AND we win the Cup.

It was a 7th rounder if he played 25% AND we made it to the Cup finals.

Neither happened, obviously.

Upshall and significant salary retention for a pick/prospect would interest me...in case anyone was wondering...

I really don't want to go into the playoffs with Bortuzzo as our sixth D.

I don't think there is any danger of that happening, barring another injury.

No Tanger, Engelland playing 4th line. I am not sure who else you are going to put in that spot.
