The last time he did was his rookie year against the habs in the shoutout.

I just don't understand.

It is odd.

Lost confidence in his penalty shot deking due to Fleury's incessant poke checks in practice?

5 days to get used to new teammates, rules, snoring bunkmates and rink size.

Right.

3 days to get used to indoor plumbing, PS4, Panda Express in every city, and your old roomie back.

learn to appreciate, indeed.

You could watch Olympic hockey?

If the USA does well, I can get into it, if not, it is just a big MEH to me.

So you're not a hockey fan? Just a Penguins fan?

I'd say I am a Penguin fan first and an NHL fan second. I have no problem watching other NHL teams, especially teams in our division. As far as teams from Finland, Sweden, Russia and etc...............not so much.

NHL Network said Pens haven't lost in a shootout since Feb 7th 2012. Was it really 2 years to the day? or may that have been a slip and he said today's date?

Not to defend Neal's selfish behavior, but it's complete bollocks that he could be suspended for that while a lot of other stuff is being justified as part of the "culture" or merry boys-will-be-boys tomfoolery.

That's how I feel too. In the NHL, at least, I feel like a lot of the embellishment stems from lax enforcement of interference, cheap shots after the whistle, etc. The attacking players get fed up and feel like they have to embellish to get calls. I think the NHL would be better served trying to crack down on all the stuff that leads to players feeling like they have to embellish, and then see if embellishment is really a problem.

Embellishment needs to be called, but so do the blatant penalties that are routinely ignored by the refs. It’s small wonder that players get frustrated and start to take matters into their own hands. When players can commit serious infractions with virtual impunity, while embellishment can earn you a trip to the penalty box--or even a possible suspension, apparently--something is seriously amiss. I’ve come to see embellishment penalties as little more than a punishment for bad acting--no Oscar nomination for you! If you’re really good at it, you might be able to draw a penalty, but don’t count on it.

It is a correct statement. Had won 9 straight shootouts.
