Toronto was a few minutes from beating Boston last year (who we didn't even show up against) , and was a shoe in for the playoffs this year until they collapsed. they are a good team that specializes in collapses...doesn't meant they can't best Pittsburgh.

Toronto is a bad team and you should feel bad.

We should handle any team we play in the first round but this is why I gave Toronto the best chance against us. They had Boston against the ropes.

It's still a possibility we play Philly. It's so close from 3rd place in the metro to the last wildcard.

My thoughts...

Detroit: 25%
Columbus: 85%
Toronto: 50%
Washington: 80%
NJ: 40%

And the flyers and rangers if you're getting technical.

If Columbus wins tonight Philly would move into that 1st wildcard...which would be who we play.

The number of peole who think we will lose to Toronto is weird. They aren't a great team and lost 8 straight before their current 2 game win streak. NJ, Washington, columbus shouldn't pose much of a problem.

Philly and Detroit are the 2 biggest concerns of the group. Philly not because they are a better team but because there's a chance we play like idiots and mentally implode. If that happens, it's a coin flip and will depend on Fleury. If that version of the team doesn't show up, it shouldn't be a question if we win.

I think Detroit is our worst match up for round 1. If they are healthy, they can give us a legitimate run for our money. I still put us as favorites regardless, so the notion that we only have a 25% shot against them is a bit sensational.

I'm confused on the Philly thing. Wouldn't Detroit still have more points? What am I missing?

Why would Detroit have more points? If CBJ would somehow take over 3rd place that drops PHI into that wildcard spot. At that point it would be between PHI and DET (or any other team fighting for a wildcard).
PHI could finish anywhere from 2nd in the metro to either one of the wildcard spots.

They are in the drivers seat to play NYR in round 1, but CBJ is only 2 points behind which is hardly an insurmountable deficit to overcome.

I was responding to "if CLB wins Philly slides into the first wild card". They would still have have less points than Detroit.

I get it all could change in a lot of ways but was confused on that point.

I might have to revise my predictions lower. This team is going nowhere fast it seems. I know there are endless excus...I mean, reasons why, but I don't see it going well in the playoffs. Hope I am wrong.
